We were only a group of 5 but the restaurant is great for larger groups as well; they have a group prefixe menu for groups 10 and larger. The prices are also more than reasonable. Now for what I ate: Crab salad with red berry vinagrette. Delicious and great way to start the meal. Not too fish and loved how it tasted with the strawberries. Baked vegetables "escalibada" served with cold pork meat and king prawns. - If all vegetable dishes were presented this way I would be super skinny. Wonderfully flavored and beautiful. Pigs trotters with fresh seared foie in Pedro Ximenez sherry reduction - Rich and decadent but delicious! I couldn't pass this up as this is something that would never be available to me back home or if it is, would cost and arm and a leg. Two other main dishes were ordered but don't remember what they were. One was a meat dish and one was the fish of the day. However, both enjoyed them and they were beautiful! (See pics) Torrija flambeada - my favorite Basque/Spanish dessert and they did this well. This would be the result if french toast and creme brulee had a baby. Caramelized to a crispy on the outside, bready but super soft and moist inside. I also tried two other desserts that others ordered cause I embrace my sweet tooth: Bitter chocolate ice cream with olive oil and salt. - Gelato like consistency. Rich, delicious and goes so well with the olive oil and salt. Txutxtxuak - they're like very thing pastry cigars that are filled with a custard and sitting on top of a small puddle of chocolate sauce. Yum.

I have had the best gazpacho I have ever had here and the Austurian faba bean soup is EXCELLENT!! The bacalao superb and the baby rack of pork cooked to perfection. All with a great view and a VERY clean restaurant. Yelp Now that I have been yelping for a while, I realize what a cool application this really is. Yelp has become my "go to" site whenever I go to a new city around the world. I've also been able to communicate with yelp friends from around the world whenever I travel to a new city in order to get advice of where to eat and also for business information. Yelp is also a great way to keep track of your past experiences and it has become a digital record of where I have been and how much I enjoyed those locations. Yelp is also really great place to connect with people in your own town to see what is going on and what is fun and which restaurants are new and exciting. Try it, you may very well enjoy becoming a yelper also.

We made a reservation for Monday lunch, which is the same menu and high prices as any other time, so no excuse for it being an off day. We love high-end dining, and at 77 Euros for a lunch of a starter, two entrees, and two glasses of wine, I expected this to be nothing but. The starter we ordered - txangurro (crab) rolls - were greasy with a filling having the taste and texture of cat food, only yellow and also very salty. To add insult to injury, Chef served it with a vegetable purée as a dipping sauce, also yellow and salty with not much else going on. So, yellow goop dipped in yellow goop... what happened to contrast? 22 Euros, please. When our server noticed we did not finish and asked if we liked the dish, I clearly said "no," it had a bad texture. And that was the end of that: no apology, no offer to bring something else, no offer to take it off the bill. When our server returned with my main - steamed hake, Asian-style - he set down the bowl and joked that the fish was under the tiny pile of vegetables. NOT the time, Dude! Out came the bland fish from the steamer basket in his other hand and away he went. Now, hake is a lovely fish - one of my favorites in Spain, in fact - but it needs to take on the flavor of what it was cooked in. Absolutely no attempt was made here, as the fish was steamed solo, perhaps with a brushing of oil. To make matters worse, the fish and vegetables were cooked with olive oil to accompany the straight-from-the-jar oyster sauce around the plate. Olive oil and Asian cuisine are a very tough match - every chef worth his/her salt knows that. So, in summation: bland fish, bland vegetables, oil from Spain, sauce from China... with no attempt made to marry them whatsoever. But, hey - always end on a positive note, right? The venison loin main was quite good, but more for use of good ingredients than anything else. Thankfully Chef couldn't screw up a nice piece of grilled meat.
