It is a beautiful square with lots of shops, cafes, and restaurant witha beautiful church right there. If you get a chance to come here, and make sure you go inside the church. Also make sure you go see Mary's Gelato . She sells it out of a small truck. It will probably be one of the best ice creams you've had in a while. Use the mall parking, as you can't drive your car inside the square.

Watched an Irish v Italy rugby match here but they will not show UK football if Italian football is on. For this you need to go across the square! See my other review. Food nice and beer a reasonable price. Biggest and best Bombardino in Campitello. Smoking outside with the man-size American hot-dog statue keeping you company. Has the first couple of feet on entry sectioned off for the Lottery sales which seemed like big business to the Italians. Small in size but comfortable.

We were staying at the hotel and given it was one of the highest rated restaurants via yelp we…read moredecided to give it a try. We started with the drunk octopus. The chickpea sauce had a strong flavor that overshadowed the octopus. Also it's a bit toward the tiny side so think of it as two bites if sharing by two people. Our next dish was Egg tagliatelle and black summer truffle which too be honest was below average. The presentation was beautiful but didn't have a strong truffle flavor and the tagliatelle was just ok. The best dish was the sea bass cooked in salt crust Sicilian style. It's a big portion meant to be shared by two people. They bring out the whole fish and cut it in front of you. The amount of saltiness was just perfect and cane with a small portion potatoes on the side. The salad went well with the fish. Overall a decent restaurant worth visiting just for the sea bass. Here are my ratings: Drunk octopus: 7.5/10 Egg tagliatelle: 6.5/10 Sea bass: 8.5/10

After the Gondola ride, one still has to hike 1 hour. The food is homemade alp food. We ordered the sausage + serano cheese and bread plate. We also ordered a plate of "Kaisserschmarr" , which is a German pancake covered in sugar power. We also ordered beer, a coke, and buttermilk. The buttermilk was from the cows in the area, freshly made, with rassberries. The restaurant is in Italy, but that region of italy known as Tirol (or Tirolo or Südtirol) is more German than Italian. The view was amazing. One could see Mt Schern ( Balzano) from the restaurant. The staff was friendly, even though they were a little overworked. I highly recommend visiting the restaurant while on a hike to Schlern/Balzano.
