Amazing drinks and incredible atmosphere. They make many of their delicious concoctions themselves and they are to die for. If you're looking for a cool laid back but crafty drink- this is your place

Visiting Puerto Rico and came across El Bar Bero (The Barber) It's the cutest speakeasy style bar. The theme speaks for itself. Yes a Barber shop. From the staff having to let you in because the door is locked to the fenomenal cocktails. This hidden treasure will not disappoint. I had the Bees Knees with lavender honey it was my favorite Bee Knees thus far and I know my Bees. My husband had the Bigote de Luigi (Luigi's Mustache) Gin, cucumber and some other goodness. It's an absolute must have if you ever visit. They also have a ton more classics with a twist. They had some bar food noting big but we didn't have food. We will definitely be back.

We love finding fun bars with unique drinks and we hit the jackpot here. From the outside one might walk right by, but once you enter you won't regret it. The decor being one of a old time barbershop where even the chandelier has old shaving brushes hanging from it. Dim lighting contributes to the feeling of old time speakeasies. Each pf our drinks, chosen from a chalkboard wall menu, were delicious and served in upscale old time glasses. The best part was our service, the young lady who helped us was phenomenal in her friendliness and knowledge. Don't miss out on this experience on Loiza!

This cool spot hidden across from Condado plaza is not a place to miss. The name is literally a play on the word "Barbero" which means Barber or Barbershop. It does not disappoint! You are greeted at the door and checked for your vax card, and given hand sanitizer. This is where we met Cyan. I hope I got her name right because she was amazing. The place screams hipster joint, and everywhere you look there is something to see. Nicely lit and pleasantly clean, Cyan helped us through the menu and recommended some great drinks based on our taste. And boy was she right on the money. We were a group of six and none of us got a drink recommended by her that we didn't like. The one drink that blew my mind was El Barbero Viejo. I kid you not, there is no single word to describe this drink. It is their own version of an Old fashioned, locally sourced ingredients, including Rum aged for 8 years. Watching the bartender make it is an experience in of itself! This is definitely a great place for a night out in San Juan, especially if you're a tourist, as both the bartender and Cyan were bilingual. Pricing is just like in the states, so there's no unpleasant surprises.

Amazing food. Fish tacos stole the show.

This place was fantastic. Cyan is patient, helpful, and all around dope AF. Definitely go with any recommendation that starts with "YO"...you won't be disappointed.

Speakeasy type of place, great hosts and amazing drinks. Hard to find and they must let you in so knock! Start here!

Came in on a Saturday night. Surprisingly, it wasn't crowded, which afforded me the opportunity to chat with the bartenders and other employees. The history of the place and the decor is impressive. The cocktail made for me was superb.

Jeez what a drink - Smokey deliciousness and great bartenders. The place to go in SJ!

All around unique and eccentric cocktails made by expert bartenders in an old barber shop with antique barber chairs to boot! Love this place for drinks. However they're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but I will be trying out this place again. I can't wait!

Stumbled into this place on a Wednesday night! It was just us and a few tourists. ID check required at front door to get in. I was in LOVE with the vibe of this place. There are old barber chairs everywhere and it's dimly lit. The bartenders were very nice too! The coconut mojito is to die for; you must get it! I enjoyed a guayaba mojito as well.

Bartender is knowledgeable about his drinks and they have walls of signature drinks. Definitely a go to spot and chill. Music is r&b and plenty of seating. It's a barber shop atmosphere.

La Muletta. Sweet, but not too sweet. Perfect drink made by Carlos.

This was the best bar we visited in San Juan- hands down. The drinks are made with so much care and love. All the drinks were good! I loved the ambiance. Thank you for the staff that made our visit to the island 10 times better!

AMBIANCE You're in the city so it's an eventful area. There's street parking and nearby lots but your best to carpool or rideshare. As for the vibes, I'm told in the daytime it's a local marketplace that's filled with vendors and other fresh produce booths. It's pretty chill with a nice neighborhood feel. As for the evening, this is where to turn up and get a pulse of Puerto Rico parties. EXPERIENCE Go to your bar, pick your vibe from community, club excessive, lounge feel, live music or etc. Drink choices rangeThey have it here! Plenty of photo op spots and good energy. I was here peak of the #DTMF era so it was magical to see people come together with a speaker and a cowbell. A local put into perspective how this was way better than paying for an expensive hotel party. It was truly a 1 of 1 experience. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. It doesn't get any better. There's a reason why this space is dropped in lyrics and people's recommendations because this is the heart of the people. So don't be shy! Grab a drink, walk around, catch a dance, and be safe! TIPS: * Don't just settle for one spot. Be sure to explore around to experience the entire Santurce experience!

Review #1,047 Posted on 4.26.26…read more We came to La Placita on Thursday the 23rd, when in town to celebrate my buddies 50th birthday. I guess this was purposefully done as I've heard it's nuts here on Fridays & Saturdays. When you get dropped off at the main road when you walk down it takes you to all the action in a few hundred feet. This place was still packed, but it was popping, the place to be at night I'd guess. They've got all JJ da of restaurants, bars, & clubs here. Tons of music, & a good time.

You won't get that in the tourist areas. I went on a Friday night and there were people everywhere. On the sidewalk and on the streets. It all bleeds together after a while. This spot is less of a club and more of a local hangout spot. Not really much dancing going on... Just drinking, talking, laughing, and catching up with friends. Not quite a "chill" vibe, but much more chill than some of the surrounding venues. Perfect for enjoying a few beers or cocktails, people watching, and unwinding after a long week, or a long flight.
