A Querétaro highlight.
Mauricio and the gang serve up truly unique coffee in a space that is comfy and conveniently located in the historic center of town. But more than that, they have created a welcoming community, a sort of Latin American bike- and sustainability-loving "Cheers," if you will.
I will not soon forget the friendliness of Mauricio, the baristas, and the customers of El Apapacho - nor, of course, the coffee. I've been to a lot of the top places in California, Seattle, New York, Boston, Chicago and Japan, but these guys bring something different. The coffee is as high quality as in those more renowned locations, but here they source quite a lot from little-known places in Mexico, showing that the more one explores coffee through one's travels, the more interesting it gets. This place is also a treat for coffee enthusiasts because of the enjoyment the staff takes in talking about their methods of brewing, roasting, and pairing coffees with other foods. They are constantly exploring the global frontier of how to bring out the best in coffee and their fascination is infectious.
They also offer a great translation for the word apapacho: "a hug to the soul."
Thanks guys! I look forward to visiting again. read more
