La Vienesa has the distinction of being the city's oldest bakery that still stands in the heart of el Centro. This is a typical Panadería of yore offering tradicional Mexican pastries, or pan dulce as it is called, many of which are rare to find nowadays, such as Alamares, Ladrillos, and other pastries that are such a delight to see.
Even if the pan dulce here is not the highest quality or the best you'll ever have, there is a charm to visiting a bakery that has lasted for nearly a century. You'll find locals that have been coming here for generations, still munching on Pasteladas, Gendarmes, and Conchas. Breakfast is also served in the back of the bakery at a very affordable price if you are a frugal local or tourist.
Whether you live here or are just visiting, this is a place to know when in Querétaro, at least it will serve as an edible souvenir that you'll devour the minute you step out of their doors. read more
