Finally got the opportunity to dine and it did not disappoint. Place is huge and a classier mexican restaurant with linen table cloths and napkins. Their happy hour have under $10 margaritas and a few other specials. I started with the garlic shrimo which was delicious and it was paired with a good crusty bread for dipping! For my entree i had the steak tacos. The steak was seasoned but a but dry on it on. Once i added the salsa and guac it was delicious. My husband had the Burria Quesadilla which loved! I am always worried about having Mexican food outside of California but this place did not disappoint. The service was great and so was the food. Once again I visited el Aguilar Dorada and the place did not disappoint. Mexican quesadillas were great are always and this time we also ordered the enchiladas suizas which were also good. These 2 dishes served 3 people well and we still took one of the enchiladas to go. Price was also fair and there were plenty of available seats on a Sunday early afternoon. I would say the decor and ambiance is nice especially in Bayonne. I would say the food also was good. I had the breaded chicken and it was pretty generous because it came with 2 pieces. It came with 2 sides one which I picked fries and they took like an hour to bring out. At that point my son already ate chips and chicken and was not going to eat them at one point I asked them to cancel and sub for something else which they did when we were all almost done. what I didn't like is that they charged me after I said the shirley temple was too sweet to give me sprite instead they charged me for both. Other thing is they charged for the birthday dessert which the order was over $150 I think it should've been a gift. My margarita was 2 sips and it was gone but I did feel it when I got up. Dined in with my family to this beautiful restaurant to celebrate my fathers birthday. It was very clean from the entrance to the bathroom. The food was great. I tried the Mole Enchiladas but they were a little on the dry side. Everyone in the party were satisfied with the food and we were all very happy to have dined here. It is now 8:32pm and I am HANGRY. The 6 small children in our table as well. My sister had to plead for some form of bread to feed her 2year old daughter. Honestly things not looking good. This was my first time at this location , as they have a smaller one midtown . We went a little later at night around 9pm on a Friday night , the hostess are pleasant and the decor is beautiful and very festive . They even have Mexican sombreros to wear :) . The food is good , as good as the one in midtown . But the bar service wasn't that great , the bartender spent most of his time at the other end of the bar and we had to be searching for him because he was busy chatting with other employees at the end of the bar . They should get more than one bartender or at least one that pays attention to the customers . I spoke to a nice hostess earlier and she reserved a hightop for me in case there was no bar seats which there were. So I told her my name and she said I could sit where I wanted at the bar. When I lived in JC, I use to always go to their smaller location but never visited their new bigger location. The vibes, the service, the food/drink options? Bomb af. At other restaurants, they don't have more than option for calamari. So you know damn well I ordered that Honey Glazed Calamari. Just everything in that was just chef's kiss. When I used to live in Bayonne this was my favorite Mexican restaurant and plan on coming back whenever I find myself in Bayonne again. I ALWAYS order their torta Milanese de Res Torta. They always cook it to perfection. Their Tortas are always filling and the steak is done well not to be confused with well done lol. I've had other meals from here but the Torta will forever be my go to. When my wife and I go in person, the service is always great. We never wait long to be seated and our food arrives in an ample amount of time. The restaurant also has a nice feel with somewhat of an upscale touch. I was worried about how they would run during covid times but the hostess was so nice when we arrived and immediately checked our temperatures, which was a good sign. We were sat quickly. They gave me and my boyfriend an option to sit indoors and although it was empty we wanted to see the patio. Once we sat one of the waiters placed chips and salsa on the table, which I was happy about because I was starving and it tasted great. The patio area was a nice size and the tables were not too close together. The lights wrapping around the ceiling was such a cute and instagram worthy touch! The place did not look thrown together like some outdoor seating areas look. As for the food and drinks they still did not disappoint. I got the Crispy Nachos on the apps menu because it is so large. Found this nice Mexican restaurant while lost in Newark. The outside of the building was appealing and looked fairly new compared to other restaurants we seen. The inside was decorated nicely as well with a full bar. Food: They give you free chips and salsa before your entree comes. The salsa was very good. We also ordered nachos which came out burnt, but we didn't want to go through the trouble of sending them back. I had the El tradicion which is a traditional quesadilla with chicken.
