This place is fairly new, I believe a Chinese restaurant used to be here... They had a buffet on offer, but most of the options were entrees not of my personal liking, so I decided to order off the menu. I was very pleased with my meal. You do get a basket of chips (plenty for one) and a salsa that wasn't too thin, nor was it too thick. The food was plated nicely and the portions were very generous. The enchiladas rojas had a ton of chicken and was nicely seasoned. Lots of sour cream and cilantro to help balance out the flavors. Actual pinto beans were served too. Definitely worth getting off 169 if you're driving between the cities and Mankato.

The quality of the food was a plesent surprise, and made it stand out amongst the crowded field of Mexican restaurants in the Mankato area. Most of the time the rice and beans are just there to fill the plate, but these had real flavor and texture. I was blown away by the ground beef in the chimichanga, it was filled with spices that mad me want to ask fro the recipe. Service was good, and drinks were kept full. The overall appearance did not stand out, but the booth was clean and comfortable. 100% will go back.

The tacos were stuffed with meat and cheese and the tortilla was nice and crispy - highly recommend!! My husband said the chimichangas were good and that the beef had a nice hint of lime to it that made it extra tasty. Service was friendly, food came out fast. Good chips and salsa for the table. Chips were warm and crispy. The restaurant itself is small, but there was plenty of seating when we got there. Be prepared to be close to other tables since it's a small space. The kitchen is across the hall. They had a small patio outside that I would like to see get expanded to the parking lot since it was pretty tight to be just on the sidewalk next to the building. Overall, will be recommending this place and coming back!

My second favorite was the chicken with some amazing reduction of some sort, love! The olives were just becuase I was hungry and I knew they would come out fast. The seafood paella was very good, just not as good as the brussels and chicken in my humble opinion and don't do it if you are not ready to get your fingers messy taking all the shells and pieces and parts off the shrimp. The bathroom was cute. The service was fast, olives minutes after we ordered, my favorite two dishes 12 minutes after ordering and paella, 12 minutes after that. The owner Rene was the server and he was very efficient for 6 pm on the Friday before the 4th of July with him the only one waiting on tables in the smallish (10 tables?) restaurant.
