The congregation is friendly, kind and sincere. The youth pastor is more concerned about discipleship and growing true followers of Christ, rather than just entertaining kids. During our time at the church we learned a lot. My husband looks upon those men as hero's. I recently lost my sister Kimberly Tippett and one year olsd nephew Kamryn in the North Texas tornado storm. We were helpless as we've never lost an immediate family member or planned a funeral before. My husband called Pastor Dames and he embraced our family and told us whatever we needed the church would meet. He connected us with the bereavement team and they went to work on our behalf. They allowed us to use the church facility at no cost even though my sister was not a member. They pulled out the red carpet! Portia was a complete angel! We were able to be relieved from the extreme stress of planning a funeral of two for such a tragedy of lost. Phenomenal church, non-diluated teaching! Passion for Christ and his followers. Love love love NDCBF!

Under the leadership of Lead Teaching Pastor Matt Chandler, and campus pastor Hunter Hall, The Village has grown and thrived in a time when seeker-centric and prosperity gospel churches have become the norm. The Village's firm commitment to preaching the Gospel--the good news about the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ--is the foundation for their ministry. From that flows worship, a gathering of community, service, and ultimately multiplication. If you're a believer and looking for a family to do life with, a group of similarly broken, hurting, messed up individuals whose only hope is in Christ, look no further. With a relaxed dress code and a welcoming spirit, The Village Church Plano is a great spot to call home.

Greeted again with a smile at the doors and a crowd of smiling, chatting people usually scatter the foyer. The signage for children's care (birth - 5th grade) is easily found along with the sanctuary and restrooms. The campus is still fairly new (fall 2014) so they are growing in all areas, but the foundation is really wonderful. Pastor Hunter (the campus pastor) is a genuine speaker who truly loves his Plano campus. Jamin (the groups pastor) is a friendly face you'll find doing announcements or wandering the kids check-in area high-fiving kids and saying hi. Adam (connections pastor) is everywhere. He's greeting at the door, mingling in the foyer, welcoming and answering questions in the "visitors/connect" area. Melissa (children's minister) is hands on in the kids area. Greeting kids, making new families feel welcome and helping with check-in. My husband and I instantly felt at home at the Village and are eager to get invovled, find community and grow in the Lord here.

He uses scripture to discuss real world current events so that it makes sense to you in this season that you're in. He goes over the top with props, but most importantly he really breaks down the word. In addition to service being great, they have amazing worship services. There is youth, young doll and kids choirs. They have life groups and multiple different categories to meet everyone need they go all out with the theme and decor for events holidays and experiences. They host a huge carnival Easter bash. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth, love, and a true sense of belonging. Everyone is so welcoming and inviting--it immediately felt like home. We've had the opportunity to attend the men's conference, women's conference, and couples conference, and each experience has been life-giving, powerful, and incredibly well-organized. The level of intentionality, excellence, and authenticity at OCC is unmatched. We regularly attend both the Plano and Prosper campuses, and each one radiates the same passion for Christ, people, and community. Pastor Conway and Jada are truly anointed leaders with hearts for service and transformation. Their leadership has deeply inspired and strengthened our walk with God.

They do not water-down truth nor do they talk down to the listeners. They simply teach the Bible. This church isn't here to entertain you -though the music and the messages are great. This church exists to bring glory to Jesus. No cheesy sermon series or fog machines. No yelling preachers, either. Just teaching the word of God and keeping the focus on Him. What a tremendous blessing to find this church! Far too many churches get side-tracked and focus too much on their image, attracting crowds or proving how "unique" they are. Woodcreek isn't here to promote themselves, they are here to teach God's word. And they use a preaching team and preaching committee to insure you're not getting one person's take on the scripture. Seriously, this church is a rare find and such a blessing!!

The senior pastor was well spoken and people were very friendly. We thought about joining and started to dive deeper into their belief structure. They are a fundamentalist church. They do not allow women to be pastors or even serve on the leadership board. They have limited women bible studies and divide the children by gender. I am born and raised Texas conservative, but come on! I cannot be a strong woman and role model to me daughters while claiming membership to this church. I understand that these patriarchal beliefs do still exist, but if you attend, you should do so being informed about what you are supporting. To their credit, they do not try to hide this and have a long description of "women in the church" on their material and website.

Think…read moreCirque du Soleil meets Barnum & Bailey meets the Rockettes, all backed by a massive professional choir and live orchestra, and wrapped in a beautiful, reverent message about the birth of our Savior. It's obvious that an extraordinary amount of time, talent, and heart goes into this event. The dancers, singers, musicians, stage crew, honestly everyone involved, are operating at a level you'd expect from a Broadway or Vegas production. If you enjoy quality music, elite vocals, powerful choreography, acrobatics, and a jaw-dropping laser show, this absolutely delivers. We've seen the commercials. We've seen the social media hype. We've heard people say for years, "It's spectacular." And somehow... going in person is still so much more than the advertising can capture. The energy and emotion simply don't translate through a screen. Reasonably priced tickets. Not a bad seat in the house (seriously). The auditorium seating is made of pews with tiny numbered "spaces," which is wildly efficient lol. A large, friendly, well-organized team that helps guide you directly to your seats -- don't stress about that. Free parking. Everything runs smoothly and intentionally .. no chaos, no confusion, just incredibly well-executed hospitality. TiP: They don't allow outside food or drinks, but bottled water is available for sale if you need something during the performance. TIP: We noticed children under the age 10 did not have the patience or attention span to enjoy a production this long. At least have the courtesy to leave when they are (tired, bored, fussy, talking etc). Everybody is too close together for that. If you're looking for a Christmas experience and a meaningful message, Gift of Christmas does not disappoint. It's inspiring and genuinely memorable, the kind of event that reminds you what the season is really about. We'll be back. Every year.

For the people who complain about this, do your homework. It is a southern baptist conservative church and there is no Social Justice Group like there is in the super liberal and fallen First Methodist Church of McKinney . If you want to groom kids, then by all means go to that church where half of the congregation has left in the last 6 years due to the International schism of the United Methodist church and the more conservative Global UMC forming globally. To the woman who works at Costco's warehouse who asked the church for money who had never even been to that church, don't ask someone for money and criticize and complain to the people you are asking money from and then act entitled to get some money and post a review cussing like a sailor. That is not going to go down well at all with PBC. Know your audience. Lastly, the church doesn't "worship Santa Claus" in its annual Christmas pageant. The first half of the show is for little kids. The second half is for adults and teens who can grasp the concept of a Virgin bride giving birth of Jesus and the massive importance of that event. This is not hard to grasp. To everyone saying completely awful things remember this- it is a big church and yet it feels small bc the people and staff are nice. I was an usher at the first United Methodist church in McKinney from 2016-2018 and no one ever imbued me to hang out, much less ask for my phone number. Most people were there to grow their business. The first time I attended PBC and also a singles group, the people in my group were welcoming, helpful, and inviting and asked for my phone number. They did what you are supposed to do for new people at church- be friendly, kind, welcoming, and inclusive. The coffee bar is also not the center piece is the church, tank God, nor is the book store. You have to walk awhile to get to that. The sanctuary is the focal point when you walk in, as it should be.
