Christ Church introduced us to the Anglican tradition, which is very liturgical and beautiful. Upon…read morearrival, you are warmly greeted by ushers opening the door for you and welcoming you. You pick up a bulletin with the order of service and the very well marked and easy to follow along reading and responses. They have "Word and Sacrament" each service, which means they do Communion/Lord's Supper each service. The demographics of this church is breathtaking. People from all over the country and the world, from all ethnicities and age groups, join in worship. It is absolutely beautiful to see so many different people united as we partake in communion (which they do walk down to the front to take, but you do not have to if you do not want to.) The nursery and children's area is wonderful. The nursery is professionally staffed and the security is top notch. There is also a family room/ nursing room available for moms with infants with the service live streamed on a tv. We enjoy the music, the sermons, and the liturgy each week. They also have a variety of small groups you can join to really get plugged in and get to know people deeper. We like the reverence and how the service engages our intellect as well as our hearts. The Rector & Dean (the main Father/Preacher/Pastor dude) loves CS Lewis, so if you are an avid CS Lewis fan, it's a real treat to hear him incorporate Lewis quotes and stories into the sermon. I've been going to Christ Church for years and the only way it wasn't friendly was if you walked in with your head and eyes down and sat alone. The sermon alone that day would have made you sit on the edge of your seat. The preaching is bible based, and blended with the issues of today in a phenomenal way. Father Paul was a Canadian but claims Texas and says y'all! He is a former Athiest, Actor, Singer, lover of hockey, and is truly an amazing preacher...He was chosen in a worldwide search to replace the founder, Father David Roseberry, who started the church 36 years before and was retiring. Father Paul has been here for 4 years and the Church continues to grow and is one of the largest in North America. There are a host of small groups, men and women's programs, classes, missions, and activities you can join to help find your way in life. Christ Church is where I found Christ and really only went because my parents went there. I was a tough nut to crack but it only takes one sermon which makes you think it was written for you. It happens a lot now. This guy really gets me!! Chris P. I don't think you went to the correct church, and I don't think you were giving anyone any reason to approach you. I am sharing my story of Faith and this Church Community. I was invited to attend a Women's…read moreRetreat by a member, whom I do not personally know. It felt like wink from God as I had recently reconnected to my Faith after many years. I really envisioned a few days of focused prayer and intention, and some alone time. What I got was so more more. I have never been surrounded by so much pure welcoming love, support and women of true faith. The experience changed my life and I am forever grateful for that little invite from a stranger. During this experience I had personal interactions with the OLA Priests, Women's and Men's Groups who fed us. I do not attend this church as I often drive from Frisco to Dallas to attend with my sister and mother. I am considering it as I have not found another group of women of pure faith with nothing but love for others. I really liked the The priest and he did a great job of guiding me through my first confession after a very long time. They even had little cards to guide you through the process. The first day after the welcome breakfast and we started our procession into mass singing a song I didn't know...I thought "oh boy what have I done I do not belong here". I quickly told myself you are here for a reason. God is calling you, be open to the experience. Don't let fear keep you from something wonderful. I am so glad I stayed. It changed my life. This is a Catholic Church filled with people of Faith in God, guided by the holy spirit and see Jesus as the truth, the light and the only way to God. Did you know The word "catholic" originates from the Greek word "katholikos," meaning "universal". This sense refers to something that is all-embracing, broad, or inclusive, rather than limited to a specific group or place. It's for all people and all are welcome, just as Jesus intended. BeWell- I dont care where you go to find it, I hope you find the peace your heart desires all you need to do is plug back into GOD and ask for his help. Read his word every day. It will blow your mind. Come back to mass. God Loves YOU.
