The earliest memories of this place dates back more than 35 year, when I was around 4-5 years old.
The ice skating rink was a lot different back then (still I have only the fondest memories of it), the rink was open-air, without a roof like nowaydays. And it was a bit smaller. The stadium didn't change much though. Another major change was the completely renewed restaurant.
Prices are fair, they have several discounts or a seasonal card, for limitless entrances for the time between October and March. After that the ice skating rink is closed.
The changing room is quite a bit old-school. That one didn't change much in 35 years. Numerous lockers are placed here for your shoes and / or valuables (2CHF deposit...money comes back at the end).
In case you don't bring your own gear you can rent the skates here as well. They offer a grind service also, in case your own skates need a bit of care.
Staff here is very professional and friendly. Only the outside rink is open to public, but it's quite a big sized rink. The stadium is mostly occupied by the local Hockey team, their junior teams or schools. If you are arriving with a school, you also could reserve a part of the stadium inside to play hockey (free of charge, just 2CHF for the hockey stick). But reserve early, since this is popular.
If you need a break then there is the very good restaurant upstairs (N'Ice) with nice views over the skating rink and a good selection of meals (Schnitzel, Pasta, Nuggets, Burgers, Salads etc.).
It's great fun. Friday and saturdays it's open late...until 22.00 (10pm). This is where I learned to skate a long time ago....a place I always love to come back to. Went through some changes, but it's still the good-old ice skating rink to me. Great place to do some sports, go on a date, hang out with friends or to enjoy by yourself. read more
