It's also very affordable, I believe my single scoop in a cone was about 2 euros or less. If you're in Vienna, you should definitely give this place a try. I would have never thought to make ice cream with pumpkin seed oil, but there is olive oil ice cream, so why not pumpkin seed oil ice cream? Pumpkin seed oil is now one of my favorite ice cream flavors in Vienna. The poppyseed flavor was not strong, but had a good texture. The elderberry flavor had an intense tang that was very refreshing for summertime. The three flavors were very different from each other, but it was absolutely divine to try them together.

They indeed had some incredibly delicious gelato. I had the Peach and my wife had the Apricot. They both exploded with incredible flavor. We each got 2 scoops and were pleasantly filled and cooled, and quite glad we stopped in. My only regret? I wish I had gotten 1 scoop of Coffee to go with my 1 scoop of Peach. Be sure to check them out yourself when you go - especially if you go when it's hot.

Eis Greissler definitely holds its own amongst some of the best in the world. My wife liked it the best of any place we've tried, outside of Rome. (We have not been to Sicily yet.) Some reviewers say it's a bit too icy, as opposed to creamy, but I will take a bit icy over too creamy any day. Creamy is nice (and this stuff is creamy), but a lot of ice cream is overly so, often with some odd aftertaste or oil slick in your mouth afterwards. None of that here! Just vibrant, unique, flavours, like pumpkin seed, goat cheese, and sturm (seasonal, young wine). We will definitely be back!
