They have 5 and 10 l ice boxes that you can take home, so it's really convenient if you are planning on having a BBQ party during the summer with ice cream! They quite a large amount of flavors to choose from such as vanilla, chocolate, hazelnut, raspberry, coconut, teramisu, mango and much more! They even have a special Mozart flavor (a mix of pistachio, chocolate and hazelnut nougat) which tastes like the famous golden mozart kugeln! I really recommend this flavor and also mango. In my opinion, Mango is the best during the hot summer as it is so juicy and refreshing! The more scoops you buy the cheaper each scoop will become so eat up! I live close to this gelateria and everyone around here loves the ice cream here. It is THE gelateria in our district and we are proud of it! I would have never thought to make ice cream with pumpkin seed oil, but there is olive oil ice cream, so why not pumpkin seed oil ice cream? Pumpkin seed oil is now one of my favorite ice cream flavors in Vienna. The poppyseed flavor was not strong, but had a good texture. The elderberry flavor had an intense tang that was very refreshing for summertime. The three flavors were very different from each other, but it was absolutely divine to try them together.

Mauß has been THE "go-to" ice cream parlor for Ottakring and Penzing for decades. Every Spring…read morefriends announce to me in passing, "Mauß hat geöffnet! " It's the first hint of Summer in the neighborhood. People who are from the area grew up going to Mauß for an after school treat. It's a real neighborhood monument. Of course it's wonderful for children especially since it's located near the Karl-Kantner-Park which has a recently renovated playground. The ice cream is great and service is usually friendly. There's outdoor seating, but since it's often very smoky, I sit in the comfy seats inside or take a to go order to the park.

The white chocolate flavor was not nearly as noticeable as I expected although it still tasted good on a warm evening in Vienna.
