The service is catastrophic but not aggressive though obliging to claim bread, cutlery, etc. every minute. The breakfast is totally tasteless. How sad.

This konditorei was pretty yummy. I was on a tour back in late March/early April and we spent a…read morenight in Dresden. Before we did our walking tour, we had a bit of free time so my wife and I hit up this mall to find some stuff for her. While she did that shopping, I stopped off at Kreutzkamm and had a slice of apple cake and one slice of one of the cakes known in that area. Can't remember the name, but it's got a lot of eggs in it and is very light and spongy. Anyhow, the apple cake was terrific and the I got the other cake more for my wife than for myself. It was pretty yummy, but you could taste a somewhat light egg flavor in every bite. I found the staff to be friendly enough. It's Germany, they aren't known to be immediately warm upon introduction. The only weird thing, I wasn't sure how the system worked. I ordered my food (in German) and she gave me a number and told me to take a seat. I did. I received my cakes, ate them, but I never received a bill. I could have gotten up and left and had free cake, but I'm too honest for that so I went to the counter and explained (in German) that I hadn't paid yet. They looked puzzled, asked what I ordered and then charged me accordingly. Kinda strange. It's a really cute setup on the inside. I wish it would have been a stand alone place rather than in a mall. It loses some character. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting some good German tortes and not just simple coffee cakes like many of the mainstream bakeries offer.
