We especially liked the schnitzel in mushroom sauce, the pancake soup, and the sauerkraut. Second, great service - friendly and relatively quick. I can't speak to their English-language skills as we spoke German, but I suspect they could hold their own. Finally, if you stay at the amazing Castle Hotel Colmberg just up the road (walking distance) from here, this place is a nice change of pace from the more formal dining at the castle, and is also more economical. lastly, if you've got children with you, there is a small playground on property, and you are walking distance from visiting the deer on the castle's grounds. They reminded me of when I was stationed in Germany during the 80's, the steak was plate sized with mushrooms and gravy, loaded with fries. This place is definitely worth the 18 min trip from Bad Windsheim, my family loved it as well. You can get the food to go, but bring Euros as they don't accept cards. The Jägerschnitzel was about €8 each. Also you may have to work with them as they are not fluent in English, but they knew what I wanted "drei Jägerschnitzels mitt pommes frites und salat, bitte"
