They did a free inspection and found a few issues I was already aware of and a few I was not. I appreciated both the honesty and thoroughness with which I was treated. There were a couple of hiccups but Eli worked those out. Chris the mechanic was a wonder and my car was even better than I expected. The price turned out to be lower than quoted! I have never had that happen before. It was a wonderful surprise. Overall I would recommend Matt's and will be returning in the future for more excellent work! Many thanks to Eli, Chris, and Xavier. They sold us all 4 for $250 because their testing device could not identify which sensor was bad. We went to Matt's for the install and they said they want to test the system themselves for a diagnosis. My first thought was, "ya, RIGHT"! But, they must have better equipment because they identified the PCV valve as the problem. So, $40 and one hour later we were on the road with the "Check Engine" light off, no sputtering and normal MPG. It was worth the $20 tip! I do not give endorsements for folks just doing their job. But, Matt's Auto Service Center has earned the positive recognition. Their work gets results.

A worker went to one of the cars and had them move off to the side for a top off. I drive up and wait. The van next to me was that had been there before me got upset for the lengthy wait and left. A white truck pulls in and visits with workers inside while they were working. He comes out and flags a new arriving car to the other bay. That guy got to go in with no wait what so ever. After 45 minutes of waiting and not getting greeted by an employee, I left. Great service at Victory Lane in North Branch as thats where i ended up going! I wont be back to this Valvoline. Forest Lake Valvoline is top notch in my experience for any Valvoline. Great management over there.

Came for a transmission fluid flush, technician came to check in my car, immediately came back…read moreafter talking with who I can assume is a senior technician or similar role- he asked how many miles the car had, which is shy of 195,000. I was notified that VIOC doesn't service transmissions if they have over 160,000 miles, which is funny considering I brought my Malibu in for the same service two months prior with 229,000 miles at the time and they performed the service at the same location with no issues. Now the senior tech is at my window saying that Valvoline passed that rule a month and a half ago, (how convenient!) they also wouldn't do it for the safety of the transmission and for liability reasons- which I can understand. Whether or not he was lying, this rule isn't anywhere on their website and the customer service rep onsite said there was no limit on mileage. The only thing that makes Valvoline unique from other shops is you get in line- no appointment, no borrowing cars, relatively quick, stress free and you're ready to go. Cambridge VIOC needs to remember that they are catering to people who 1. Don't really care about the vehicle (otherwise it would be serviced by John Hirsch's or another dealer!) 2. Don't have time to book an appointment and wait around for that day to come. That's not practical for most people. 3. If the review so far hasn't shown my thoughts, just have me fill out a liability waiver. I would have gladly done so rather than having to hear his cheap excuses for why they cannot perform that service.
