I have the 59" (medium) wildwood desk with a solid pheasantwood top and black business frame, and the 39" (large) anti-fatigue mat. The large mat is exactly the right size to fit between the legs of the medium desk. Overall, this desk is great.
Pros:
The height adjustability is great even beyond allowing the desk to switch from sitting to standing. Even as a regular sitting desk, this is a big improvement for my posture: until I got this desk, I didn't realize that most desk surfaces are too high for me (I'm 5'6"), and I was compensating my raising my chair and not having my feet flat on the ground. With this desk, I can set it to the right height to have my arms, back, thighs and calves and feet all 90° to each other. It took a while to find the right height for the most comfortable work while standing, but it's very easily adjustable, and you can set it to remember 3 different positions. The motor is quiet, the raising/lowering motion is smooth and quick, and it allows for tiny adjustments.
The wood is gorgeous, and it's finished with what seems to be a very tough protective coating. My cat gets on the desk all the time and her claws haven't left any marks.
The cable management tray runs down the middle of the desk. It's far enough in from the edge that I don't hit my knees on it while sitting, and it's great if you plan to work from both sides of the desk like me. I use one side for sitting and the other for standing.
The inlaid keypad for the solid wood top is great aesthetically and practically - there's nothing hanging down for me to smack my legs into. Also nice is the little USB charging port in the keypad, made especially useful because the wireless charging pad is basically non-functional (see Cons).
Cons:
The wireless charging pad is essentially non-functional. I've tried it with my phone (iPhone 12) and AirPods Pro 2nd gen. Both will charge a little bit (maybe 20%), then get too hot and stop charging. Effydesk warns that phones can overheat on wireless charging pads and suggests taking off the phone case, but that's not practical. Also, my case is designed to be used with MagSafe chargers and it works just fine on those. If the phone case were truly the problem, I figure the AirPods Pro would be fine since I don't have them in an extra case - but they also charge really slowly on the pad and then stop. Unlike the phone, they don't have a display to indicate why they've stopped charging, so I'm just assuming it's from the heat. If you get this desk and want to try the wireless charger, note that the instructions show only four cables from the control box; there is a fifth one for the charging pad.
Overall:
I chose this desk for durability and aesthetics: the solid wood top, the heavy-duty motor, and the warranty were the most important factors for me. I want this desk to work well and look good for a long time. So far, I think it will. It's among the higher priced sit-stand desk options, and the charging pad doesn't work as advertised, but after using it for about a month and a half, overall I'm very pleased with the desk and would recommend it. read more
