Effusive Flowers did the flowers for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding last October at the Four Season's Biltmore in Santa Barbara, and the flowers were simply amazing. Let me start by saying this: I've never purchased flowers in person from a florist in my life. I've often just called a few places, provided the details, and paid with a card over the phone. I was in a bind, and figured I could walk into this random florist on my way home, and be captured by the depth of selection and stunning design. Well, not the case at all here at Effusive. I couldn't believe the prices! It was so outrageously expensive. Almost offensively expensive, considering what you're getting. A premade mixed bouquet with roses was $64 plus tax! Because I was pressed for time, I left with the cheapest bouquet for $50! I figured I couldn't go wrong, and besides I wasn't paying for it anyway on my dime. When I got to my dinner party, everyone was so DISAPPOINTED when I told them how much they were!!! The bouquet was composed of 6 roses (2 bent ones), a lot of filler, and 3 lillies. The good news is I learned a lesson. I learned you can show up to a dinner party with $50 flowers from a florist, but people will still think you got them from Ralph's. read more

I've always loved Effusive flowers, they make really beautiful arrangements, they are pleasant and timely and care. Parking is not always easy. There is a 10 minute zone right in front of the business and a lot in the back that is almost completely consumed by the electric wholesale company on the same block. Street parking is best. I used to live around the corner and walk there but now I just call ahead and have it ready. I have used they for almost every occasion and have never been disappointed. They are not the most expensive florist and they do offer delivery (for a fee IIRC) but they do go above and beyond and have even come in on Sunday to arrange a large order or special request. I give them all of my west side floral business and hope they are around for years to come! read more

I have passed this store many times noticing their large variety of cacti outside. Today I needed a last minute gift. The owners helped me select the cacti and planted it in minutes. Outstanding! First rate all the way. I happen to need flowers today for a dinner I'm having at my house tonight, just something for the table. I was greeted with a big smile upon arrival by both gentlemen in the store. They were incredibly helpful and fair in price. Gorgeous flowers. Floral design is such a subjective process and thus it can be hard to send/buy for someone if you don't know the florist. With these gentlemen though it will never be a concern. Every single arrangement in the store (and they had many) was incredibly tasteful and modern and just gorgeous. Whether it be orchids, succulents, or just flowers - everything was beautifully arranged. They had tons of all of them.
