Almost everything is made in Canada, including belts, jewelry and other accessories. He has an avid local following, but the store is still quiet enough that you will get lots of personal attention and be made to feel right at home - bring your dogs, your kids, your partner, it's all good (although maybe not all at once). He primarily caters to the professional woman (it has been described as the boutique for "women who read"), and men who love well-tailored but hip shirts made out of quality material. If you need help putting things together, they will be happy to help. Otherwise they will let you be as you explore the merchandise. The clothes are well-made and well-thought out- it is a good place to get conservative wardrobe staples if you can't afford Max Mara (or even if you can). I can't wait for him to design Alpaca wool women's coats...hint hint. One concern I have - and the only thing keeping this review from five stars- his clothes tend to fit the average woman and the long and lean type. If you are petite, choices are more limited. I think you can get pieces tailored to fit, so this may be an option. The prices are very reasonable for the quality- maybe a little more then Banana Republic or Club Monaco- and you are supporting a Canadian retailer!

They feature an array of Russian telnyashkas (striped navy shirts) Canadian Navy blazers, Canadian Army boots, US military M-65 jackets and fishtail parkas (M-51 and 65). The owner is super knowledgeable, and is able to tell you the story behind everything in the store. If you need to know the difference between an M-51 and M-65 fishtail parka, or the difference in the fit of 1947 and 1955 pattern Levi's 501s, he can tell you- you'll literally go from "that looks kinda cool" to knowing the history of the garment in minutes. It's about 8 minutes away from the original location and comes with hassle free parking. I went there today for the first time since they moved and boy was it worth it! The studio/shop is lovely and shopping was fun and hassle free and unpressured. I had a better sense of how stylish the clothes are. I had a mandate in mind. I'm doing a lot of travelling and I wanted to put together a wardrobe that was easily interchangeable and fun to wear and that would easily fit into a carry on suitcase. I'm thrilled with what I bought. The value and quality was great. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you Julie. I love your vision.

I came to find Miik clothing & bought two of their Emily Cardigans & a dress. Julie is the store owner & she was there the day I came in. She was so helpful & I loved her positive & friendly attitude. The decor of the store is nice too. There are natural wood logs acting as posts for the clothing racks. It's a nice, light, airy feeling in the store. There are two change rooms at the back & a mirror nearby so you can check out how things fit on you. Will definitely be back in the store in the future!

I usually take advantage of their sales that happen once or twice a year as their regular priced items are more pricy. However, I do occasionally go for their basics which are of high quality. The store layout is spacious. Some clothes can easily be unisex. Staff are always friendly, professional, and helpful. If you want to try on clothes, they will also set aside the clothes for you in the changeroom area so that you can continue to browse. There is also a sofa in the changeroom area if you are waiting for your friends to try on clothes as well. If you do end up buying clothes they give you a nice tote bag for your purchased clothes. Overall, a nice spacious clothing store selling sustainable and ethical high-quality clothing. The staff are great and friendly as well. The person helping me though said they were getting more selection in soon. Good to know, however...after leaving here I went a few doors down to Showroom where they already had the new blazers in. Why did Showroom have them already and the brand's own store didn't? Odd. The only other slightly annoying thing about this store was that I had to leave my tea at the counter. Their phone skills could be better, but other than that the store is clean and the staff is helpful.
