This is a national (Dutch) policy, not something that is specific to the McDonalds in Tilburg. I have actually spoken with the manager (Maarten) about this policy, and he has informed me that local restaurants have no choice in the manner. He is merely following the regulations of the Netherlands head office. So I think it is unfair to harshly judge the restaurant for this. The fries are okay here and the wifi is of high quality. I recommend going after 8PM to avoid the young people.

Everything we ordered was made fresh and was lovely. The nuggets here were perfect - they even smelled/tasted a bit like popcorn. The problem I had with the place was two-fold. First, the upstairs was closed off. There were people standing around with trays waiting for seats to open, yet the upstairs was completely empty, and roped off. They did remedy this later, but not until it reached critical mass and you couldn't walk in the place due to the number of people standing around with trays who could not sit due to the fact all the tables were full. They also had a nice outdoor area, which also so roped off and all the chairs were stacked up even though the sun was splitting the rocks. No idea why they decided to not open these areas and force everyone to fight for tables, but they did sure. Secondly this is the ONLY McDonalds I have EVER been to that doesn't give you ANY ketchup. I got my order and pointed out even though I had three large fries there was no ketchup. They then explained it was fifty cent per sachet of ketchup. Fifty cents? Seriously? An extra two euro for four little packets of ketchup? Any money you save on the value saver menu you lose the minute you ask for ketchup. There are plenty of other good places to eat here in the centre of Tilburg, skip this McDonalds and go for them sure!

They also have a room inside for the kids to play. The only this about this location you have to look out for is the road it is located on. They have what you would expect, burgers, chicken, sausages, chips, and many other items like this but they actually like a deli have it all displayed so you can choose what you want and they cook it right there. I stop by here on my way to Maastricht because it's nearly the halfway point. Their parking lot is large (AND BUSY!), with an over-flow area as well. The bathrooms are small, but they seem to work out okay. Not a lot of highway visitors here, even though it's directly off of the A2. Their self-ordering Kiosks can have a queue. They've changed the layout of ordering twice since I've first visited which probably delays some people. It doesn't matter too much because there are only so many orders they can process at one time, so you'll either wait at the beginning (before ordering) or after. The waiting area to pick up your order is small, can be crowded standing there. I'm sure they would prefer the people "dining in" to take their seat and wait for their number and then go get their tray, but I see a lot of groups just standing there waiting and then they go sit down. Hmmm..... It is super clean. That's what I note about this store the most. I haven't been to McDonald's in years in the US, but since in NL, I frequent them a little more since they are so nice and the food seems better quality. I have to mention the best part of this McDonald's in Best, NL - it's the retro decoration of the restaurant. Those original looking "Golden Arches", the Marilyn Monroe rotating statue, the Chevy in the ceiling and all the other memorabilia will make you forget about being homesick for America. They do it well, not too much. Even the tables and stools remind me of retro diners in the US. Certainly worth a visit when near Eindhoven.
