I contacted him on a Sunday, he said he would reach out on Monday and by noon I had heard from him and gave him all of my information. By sending photos and measurements he told me exactly what to get and where to get it, the process was simple and easy. Within 24 hours he was in our home ripping up old carpet and installing beautiful vinyl flooring. I work from home and I barely noticed he was there. He was on time, kind, professional and efficient. The Installation people were what made this experience horrible. I had to constantly call them to try and schedule (which took weeks, I had to call the customer service rep multiple times to get them to help only for it eventually lead to my request being handed to the owner to finally get it scheduled), once I finally got it scheduled they cancelled on me multiple times due to other projects taking longer than expected. I never got a call back to reschedule and AGAIN had to leave multiple voice messages to get them to finish what they started, finally someone from installation showed up only to as me "Whats wrong with it?", Me: "Theres no trim on it..." Installer: "oh... I think they sent me to the wrong house, yeah I dont have the stuff for this..." SO. FRIKKING. FRUSTRATING. They apologized of course, but I am done with them. Halpin's was great up until you deal with the Installation part, and they do a great job when they do finally show up, but the amount of stress just wasn't worth it when I can easily go somewhere else for just as good results.

However, the cleanup afterward was extremely disappointing. There was tile grout dust left everywhere in the areas where repairs were made, along with debris, carpet trimmings across the floor, and trash left in the front yard. I wasn't expecting a spotless finish or professional floor cleaning, but this was basic garbage that could have easily been handled with a quick shop vac. I called to report the issue, and they said someone would come back out to clean it up. Unfortunately, when they "returned," nothing had been touched -- it looked exactly the same, which was frustrating. For a job that cost over $6,000, cleanup should be part of the service, especially when a follow-up visit is promised. Great install, but the lack of attention to cleanup and follow-through really took away from the overall experience.

I had never bought carpet before and I accepted what he told me. He intentionally sold me almost 2 times the amount of carpet I needed. When my contractor called to question it, he had no excuse or explanation. He simply said I signed for it, so I was just stuck with it. They also charged me $100 for freight, and I had to pick it up at the store! Later I also noticed that they charged me tax on the freight! Buyer beware at Lacours! Shop someplace else.
