Maryrest Cemetery - Front row for my mother. Merry Christmas mom!

However, I wanted one in the "front row" for my mom near the alter and she showed us some. I did not hold back and got one right next to the alter for my mother to see. Not cheap at all but it is for my mom who did a lot for my brother and I. Randy was helpful and really made making the decision easy. So easy that my brother and I bought niches as well. Just need to tell the wife but hey, I have always prepared. One of the big selling points is this is a Catholic mausoleum/ cemetery which was important to me and my family. From the sales side let's get to the nitty gritty - the grounds themself. Maryrest is gorgeous if you plan on burying or interring a loved one here. The grounds are well kept and the the main mausoleum is stunning. It is not like other grounds / mausoleum I have been to where it it is tight and crowded. There is room to breath and pay respect. Truly a nice place to bury a loved, one, attend a service and just have some quiet time. As for the lady saying there should be a map - it would take away from the beauty and clean look. Also, there is a place called an office at the main entrance that has them. I highly recommend Maryrest if you are looking to have a loved one interred or buried. It gorgeous, well maintained and serene and that goes a long way. It came highly recommended by my mother's friends and I am happy I have her interred here. Thank you Randy and the staff of Maryrest!

Up until 2019, perhaps COVID impacted the statements , I have no idea. But I do know that once my mom passed this horrible excuse of a funeral home changed her signed prepaid contract and presented me with a bill for more money, trying to provide services that were never wanted or requested, and to make matters worse actually were charging for 2 separate cremations! One at Garden state and one at Ferncroft. The Funeral Director Marty is the rudest inhuman unprofessional person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with and literally kept repeating himself saying " uyou want me to do this for free" OMG this is my mother he was talking about who had literally just died , and by the way she prepaid for her funeral nobody was asking him to do anything for free. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take my advice and DO NOT TAKE YOUR business here, and if you have a pre -paid service try to get your money back and go elsewhere! BTW we never received 1 penny of interest on the money she pre paid 18 years ago and had to involve an attorney to get this unscrupulous business to do the job they were paid for ! Horrible disgusting unprofessional disgraceful business.

Before I go any farther I would like to be clear that I have been to and have planed funerals for members of my family and friends. To start their web site is not mobile friendly which makes looking up information a bit of a challenge. I was surprised that during the viewings no one was at the the front or back doors opening them as friends and family were coming to say there good byes. I noticed an elderly women having difficulties opening a door while using a walker. I actually held the door for her. From the outside the faculty looks very nice. Unfortunately, the inside is very dated and small which made it difficult to move around with out bumping into objects and people. We also had an issue with the flower arrangement we sent. Upon paying our respects to the family we noticed our arrangement was not out. I knew it had been delivered and asked a staff member if it had arrived. She seemed bothered that I asked and eventually came back with our arrangement saying it must have arrived late. I found that odd since we had confirmed it arrived over 2 hours before the viewing. To be honest, I was not impressed overall. The staff had to be told to refill the prayer cards, they only had one person working at both viewings even though this was the only service going on, flowers and photos were haphazardly placed and the family had to keep starting the rolling photo show. Lastly the young women I spoke with was very cold. This home proudly said they were family owned, we didn't feel very welcome.
