She put me in for another eye test to recheck everything and explained my benefits to me unlike Cohens who didn't even have my info I had to print it out for them the process was simple and the frames were priced perfect all in all the doctors and ever staff member were extremely nice and helpful! I will be using them in the future! Sure enough Cohens tried charging me 500 dollars and tried giving me lenses I didn't even need! I got everything I needed to 208! Amazing

I paid $4,000 out of pocket ($2,000 per eye). When I sought assistance with reimbursement, I was repeatedly told that "insurance never pays for this." Despite having an approval letter from my insurer, Dr. Jeffrey Martin told me, "Insurance will tell you they'll cover the surgery but then when it comes time to cut the check they will deny the claim." What frustrated me most was the dismissive attitude I encountered. I felt my questions and requests for assistance were an inconvenience rather than legitimate concerns deserving professional attention. I understand that the Femto laser is a tool used during surgery rather than a separate procedure, which can complicate reimbursement. I also understand coverage is not guaranteed. However, there is a difference between explaining those limitations and dismissing the possibility of reimbursement, especially when a patient has written approval from their insurer. Ultimately, my insurance company reimbursed me for the full $4,000. My insurance also covered the eye drops associated with my surgery, another expense I had been told would not be covered. I am glad I persisted, but the experience left me disappointed in SightMD's patient service. My complaint is not that the office failed to guarantee coverage, but that my concerns were dismissed and my efforts discouraged based on assumptions that proved incorrect. Patients should feel comfortable asking questions about substantial out-of-pocket expenses without feeling they are inconveniencing their medical provider. Even when reimbursement is uncertain, patients deserve respectful treatment and reasonable guidance. Since the payment could not be refunded to me, I was issued a $639 store credit. I went to the store today intending to use that credit toward another pair of glasses. However, I was told that there was no store credit showing in their system and that, because the manager was not there, they could not apply it. I explained that I had proof of the original transaction and the store credit, including the receipt that I had previously asked them to send to my email. I also questioned how this could happen and what would happen if the manager were to leave the company. I was simply told that I would have to wait for the manager. Unfortunately, the employee who assisted me was also very unprofessional and seemed extremely unwilling to be transparent about the pricing. She initially refused to show me the quote or the price she had provided. I explained that I wanted to see it because I planned to call back and did not want the price to be changed later. Eventually, she showed it to me, but the price had been changed and part of the original quote had been whited out. This entire experience was very frustrating and unprofessional. I have proof of my $639 store credit, yet the store was unable to locate it in their system, and I was not given a reasonable solution. On top of that, the lack of transparency regarding the pricing made the situation even more concerning. I hope management can look into this matter, honor my $639 store credit, and address the way this situation was handled.
