I was referred here due to a previous procedure that failed and I had a difficult time getting a straight and consistent recommendation on treatment options. It become very clear to me the surgeon Proothi was more concerned with not making his buddies in the field look bad rather than providing me the clarity I deserved as a paying patient. The procedure went to plan, they did nothing above and beyond what they quoted us. We paid in full before leaving. 4 months later they start sending us bills with pricing that was 3x higher than our quote. I do not recommend using this place. If you do, keep your original quote and your receipts in case they try to bait and switch you too. Thankfully, we have all of our paper work. It's changed a bit as maybe dentists are friendlier than they used to be (or maybe I'm just doing a better job in brushing my teeth?) which is where Sachem Dental Group comes into play. This Lake Ronkonkoma location is my new dentist spot and it fills in all the holes (pun intended) for what I need. Well, first it fit the bill for my wife as she was having some mouth pain and we didn't want to go all the way to New Hyde Park (where I used to live and my old dental location) to figure things out when SDG was right up the road from where we now live. Her experience was pretty positive and so we migrated our biannual checkups to this Hawkins Ave building. My first personal experience came a few weeks back where I had a mid morning appointment which I got to ahead of when it was scheduled and they took me just a smidge past my appointment time. While waiting, I overheard the people working at the front desk and they seemed friendly to other patients. The waiting area was also cutely decorated from the Fall along with some funny dental jokes written out in a few spots. I can vibe with this. Once getting called, the hygienist was nice enough as she cleaned through my teeth and didn't reprimand me for my semi-delayed trip to the dentist (a bit over a year, sorry). We took some X-rays too which took a little time as she was having a little difficulty with the machine, but she was apologetic and helpful during this. Back in the room, the dentist came in and looked through my X-rays and mouth to see that there weren't many issues to be seen. He was in and out pretty quickly which felt kind of fast, but he still seemed nice in that short interaction and honestly it's probably better that he wasn't in there for very long! I set up my next appointment for six months from now (the hours that SDG are open are pretty good) and I was on my way. Overall, Sachem Dental Group of Lake Ronkonkoma is a formidable spot for your dentist needs. It has a clean interior, nice enough staff, and generally smooth interactions during dental visits (my wife went the same day and her experience was positive too) to definitely keep this place as my dentist going forward. I'm glad everything went well, but that still doesn't change my deeper feelings about dentists in general. #sorrynotsorry

So, I decided to look around and found Dr. Park at Leading Edge. Pulling up to Selden... I was extremely hesitant. The office is in a bit of a run down medical strip mall. The parking lot is big and there are a few flowers and bushes by the office but overall it is somewhat ah old...maybe from the 1970s? Once inside Leading Edge, well things were the same. The AC was blasting away. I immediately wished i was wearing a sweater.A few people were waiting in old chairs. Everyone was staring at their phone. There was a large TV screen on one wall showing some game show. The receptionists sat in a small off shoot of the office. They were very attentive, fast, and professional! Though still hesitant, I was somewhat at ease. After a wait of a few minutes I was led by a dental assistant into the "operating area". The room they put me in was sparse but professional. Super clean. Computers and brand new modern dental equipment. Unfortunately there was a large TV in the room showing a kind of MTV kind of show. The history of rock and roll. Oh, how I hate the music from the 1950s! HATE. Anyway --- Dr. Park came into the room. He was young, smart, and professional. He looked at my x-rays and examined my teeth. He agreed that the tooth ( left upper molar that had root canal a long time ago ) needed to be pulled. He explained everything to me. The whole process of extraction and implantation. The dental assistant sent me off to billing. I received an itemized proposal which was 50% of the Manhattan guy. Fifty - percent! An appointment was made for the extraction and to make a long story short --- everything went very smoothly. Two weeks later I returned to have the extraction. They even called me the next day to check up on my condition. And now for the implant! I am almost looking forward to it...Almost.

I was referred here after a root canal I had done because I started having really bad sinus issues…read more None of my doctors could figure out the issue with my sinus and thought it could be due to an acute infection that couldn't be seen by the eye at the root of my tooth. They told me to come in with my previous MRI I had received that month from another doctor that I had on a CD. I called them two days before asking them if I could reschedule my appointment because I was having trouble finding the CD and I didn't want to pay additional money to have an MRI done at the office. The receptionist put me on hold and came back after five minutes letting me know the doctor said don't worry about it and we can do a new scan in office. I reiterated that I didn't want to pay for a new scan and they said no don't worry about it just come in. I get to the office and they tell me after looking at my mouth that we're gonna do the MRI they did the MRI and said they couldn't find anything that would solve my problem, but they were going to send my MRI out to be reviewed to see what their team said upon signing out. I was stopped by the receptionist and she told me I hope they let you know that the MRI is going to be a $320 charge. I said no they absolutely did not and I called to try and avoid this because I had an MRI already and I didn't want to be recharged. She told me Me I'm sorry about that but you have to pay the $320. This was five days before Christmas so I asked if they could bill me for it since it was an unforeseen bill and they told me no I had to pay in office that day. I was furious because I specifically called the day before to make sure that this was not the case. After leaving the office, I never heard from them again. The doctor never called me to follow up. I never got any results from my MRI and they had the audacity to send me another bill. I called multiple times to the billing office to figure out what the bill was for and no one has returned my call mistakenly while paying another bill that was warranted for a different doctor. I sent them my billing information and I was charged for a bill that wasn't even theirs. I've called a few times to reconcile this, but no one has answered. I will never come back here again.
