I had one more prescription for a non controlled substance. To be number ten or eleven in line, is frustrating, counterproductive and insulting. I went to an urgent care, got my script, which my Dr, Dr. Glovaci refused to honor, although I had one more refill. I am going back to CARDIOVASCULAR CARE OF LOS ALAMITOS, where you can ACTUALLY GET THROUGH ON THE PHONE, without the INSULTING SIX HOUR WAIT.

Dr. Appleby is very personable, takes the time to listen to concerns, has an excellent bedside manner, and his sense of humor is the icing on the cake. He was able to outline an action plan for me with achievable goals. The office is modern, clean, and state of the art. The doctor's staff were all very friendly and helpful. I have been to a number of cardiologists, and Dr. Appleby is head and shoulders above the rest by far. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a top-notch cardiologist. One caveat: The medical office building houses a number of medical specialties and as such, it is quite busy and parking can present a challenge. Just an FYI.

My father had a scheduled appointment today, August 17th at 8:39 a.m. today. While we were waiting…read morein the office, I was informed by the receptionist that a text message had been sent approximately one hour before the appointment notifying us that it was canceled. I was told that the person scheduled to perform his test would not be available for the remainder of the month and that my father would need to be rescheduled to the Los Alamitos location. What was especially disappointing was the complete lack of apology or concern for the inconvenience. Instead, the receptionist was rude and dismissive. While I was speaking with her, another receptionist attempted to provide additional information, while the first receptionist simply turned her attention to her computer. When I asked when my father could be rescheduled, I was told that the earliest available appointment in Los Alamitos would not be until October. My father is 93 years old, and this last-minute cancellation has created a significant hardship for both of us. I had to miss work to bring him to this appointment, only to find out after arriving that it had been canceled. I requested to speak with a manager or supervisor, or even Dr. Pan, but was told that no one was available. According to the receptionists, Dr. Pan was in clinic seeing patients, and the supervisor was in Los Alamitos because of a staff shortage. I informed them that I was willing to wait for the supervisor, as I was told she was on her way to the Long Beach office. Unfortunately, there was still no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience. The interaction was characterized by rudeness and extremely poor customer service. I understand that staffing issues and unforeseen circumstances can occur. However, patients and their families should be treated with courtesy, compassion, and respect--especially when an appointment is canceled at the last minute. My 93-year-old father is now left in limbo without a clear appointment date, despite our having arrived for his scheduled appointment. I am requesting that a supervisor or manager contact me promptly to address this situation, explain why the cancellation notice was not effectively communicated before we arrived, and determine whether my father can be accommodated at an earlier date rather than being forced to wait until October.

I have found him to be, not only a fine cardiologist, but a man of great experience and character. He has a true heart for vocation and his patients. I would recommend him without reservation. Sadly, as for the PCA office culture, personnel and access to information relative to my clinical or other inquiries, very poor. This is based on a number of calls to the office and the use of the on-line system. Seemingly understaffed, poorly equipped by way of serving the patient's needs, long waits on hold, failure in returning calls, and even lacking in common courtesy. Symptoms of poor upper management's standards, training and oversight. In a word, 5 stars for Dr. Kawanishi, no stars for office staff and admin.

My first impression of him was that he's very friendly and knowledgeable. However, there were a few things I didn't like: 1) The parking at the medical campus is an absolute nightmare. The medical building shares parking facilities with the hospital next door (Lakewood Regional Medical Center) as well as another medical building, where my new primary doctor practices. 2) Their office needs an upgraded phone system. There have been times when I've called and gotten a busy signal, so I couldn't even leave a voicemail message to have someone call me back. 3) Their office has no patient portal and the website address printed on their business cards does not work, so there is no way to reach them via online. 4) I understand Dr. Rawal is only doing his job as a physician, but he wanted to replace one of my blood pressure medications with an EXPENSIVE brand-name one, in additional to adding another expensive medication. My pharmacy informed me that my health insurance does NOT cover the cost of either. 5) I was given information on starting the Mediterranean diet, but my casual observation of the ladies in the front office revealed that a couple of them could benefit from it. :-/ I have a lot to think about before scheduling another appointment. The search for the right cardiologist continues.

The staff cackles like hyenas and play practical jokes on eachother while performing serious procedures. More like a group of teenagers than a professional setting. After my initial appointment and exam I called the office 5 times. Week after week. They were supposed to send me records, reports, and the doctor promised he would call. I am not a special case. I did not ask for anything extraordinary. This was just a standard check up and they couldn't even give me the courtesy of doing that right. This is the first one star review I've ever left but the audacity of this Doctors Office truly deserves it. They told me I should come in to resolve my issues. I'd rather spend eternity in hell then come visit the Doctors Office one more time. Doctor is rude, cold and short. Had to wait an hour in the office while sitting in a totally empty waiting room. My dad was referred by his primary doctor back in March 2026. They had mentioned to me this office changed management so be patient regarding a call back. I tried making an appointment for my dad, they wouldn't give to him an appointment until they got his hospital records from 2013. The receptionist said they'll double-check with the doctor and would call me back. Never got a call back. I finally was able to get a hold of someone but they said everyone was at lunch and she did not know anything about a call back. Very rude lady. I asked if she knew if I really needed my father's hospitalization records, she said to call back because she doesn't know. Then My dad's primary doctor office called them and explained the hospitalization was not relevant to his referral and they were able to schedule my dad a visit 4/15. I was still informed the hospital records from 2013 were still needed. On 3/27 I took my dad to sign an authorization to release of information so they can get my dad's hospital records. Today, on 4/15 he went to his scheduled appointment and I was informed by the front desk they tried calling my dad to notify him the doctor had an emergency and the appointment had to be rescheduled. Apparently they did not have his correct contact number. They never checked if my dad's number was updated when I went on 3/27, which is basic protocol to check contact information at an office assisting the public. Also the authorization release of information was never faxed to the hospital to retrieve records from the 2013 hospitalization. The girl at the front desk said they faxed it three times today however I could go directly to the hospital to request his records. They rescheduled my dad with a tentative date, as the records needed to be received in order to be seen by the doctor. At this point he decided to take his business elsewhere and didn't want to come back to this unorganized provider. I agree, very frustrating and a waste of time. I hope they find a better way to hold people responsible to do their job and have back up doctors.
