Fresh produce at Kaka'ako Farmer's Market in Honolulu, Hawaii...
Every Saturday morning, at 8am, Ed's Little Farm sets up shop at the empty lot next to the parking structure where Ward Warehouse used to be.
There's usually a line to enter the booth, so, it's a popular place to get fresh fruits and veggies.
I actually was looking for tropical flowers to bring to my dad's grave. The vendor that I like to patronize had sold out again, so I went to the next booth...
There was a large bucket - on the ground - of beautiful Heliconia, torch Ginger, hanging Heliconia, and Indian Head ginger! I was so happy! I was thrilled even more to find out that the price was so reasonable... three stems for $4. Wow! I grabbed six flowers, skipped the line, and went straight to the cashier. He wrapped up the ends and tied the stems together.
Whew! That was quick, easy, and convenient! Now I know where to go if the other vendor sells out early again! Remember the cute name: Ed's Little Farm!
Note: next weekend is Memorial Day weekend... go early and get your flowers here! read more
