This is a walk-up, pay up front self serve sort of joint, very reasonably priced, with the most amazing donairs a man could ask for. The flavour balance was spectacular - the donair meat freshly shaved and prepared, fresh veggies. Here's the extra part - fantastic presentation, this donair looked bomb - and expert wrapping to minimize the mess and to optimize ease of eating. Never would I have thought that my favourite donair place would be in Whitecourt, but alas, turns out there are surprises in every corner. I have no doubt I will be a regular here, though my waistline may have a different opinion.

This is a family ran restaurant and they were very appreciative for our business and were quite friendly; the service was great. We heard that the White Dragon was the roll to try and it didn't disappoint. It has a creamy garlic sauce that is delicious. It doesn't taste like your typical sushi but it was a nice change. We also ordered the spicy tuna, volcano and Hawaiian role. They have a lot of non traditional roles on the menu. We would definitely go back to have the White Dragon and maybe try some of their other unique rolls.

The prices are on par with any Japanese restaurant anywhere in Alberta. The sashimi was high quality and beautifully prepared. As soon as…read morewe walked in we noticed the white board with various menu items such as sandwiches, soup and one type of breakfast sandwich. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham and my wife ordered a BLT. I also ordered a coffee. While we were waiting for our food we looked around to see what else is available. There were two fridges for frozen meals that could be taken home and reheated. There were some basic groceries such as eggs as well. Of course, being a bakery, there were lots of breads, buns and pastries. Our orders didn't take long, but since there are no tables everything was to go. That's okay, I can eat in the car. My wife said her BLT was especially good. My breakfast sandwich was very filling but also tasty and not messy so it was easy to eat in the car. My coffee was not so great. It tasted like what I often make at home. That is something that Violet Mae's could improve on. However if you are passing through town and looking for a place for a quick lunch to go, or you need to pick up some bread for later, this is your place. It's only a block from the highway and near the west end of Whitecourt.
