Ken Truong (owner of Skywood) and his crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Ken carefully listened to my objectives during an initial site visit. I didn't have a particular design in mind, but within about 10 days Ken was able to prepare a written proposal that included 2D and 3D photos of what the finished landscape renovation might look like. This was really helpful because only few iterations of discussion and revisions were needed to complete the final proposal. Demolition of the existing backyard included removal of trees, artificial turf, patio blocks, and a considerable amount of soil. This phase was completed relatively quickly and without any problems due to Skywood's obvious experience. The next phases included installation of drainage pipes and conduits for lighting and irrigation and then covering with rock base and pavers. Skywood's efforts during these phases included an uncommonly high level of attention to detail to ensure that rainwater would flow away from the house and into the storm drains. The final phases included installation of a redwood fence, installation of rock veneer and capstone to cover a retaining wall, and installation of lights, plants and irrigation to produce a really beautiful garden. Despite several hot summer days, Ken and his crew always had a friendly, positive attitude and left the worksite clean each day. I give Skywood Landscaping my highest recommendation, and I would surely hire them in the future.

The project included refreshing mulch in the front and back yard, repairing a wooden side gate, replacing a number of plants, installing two new Pittosporum with gopher wire protection, repairing an irrigation leak, and fixing some issues with our border edging. Vicente coordinated everything and was very easy to work with. Their team arrived exactly on time both days and worked efficiently. By the second day most of the larger work had already been completed, so they brought a smaller crew to finish things up, which I appreciated. They had a near perfect rating and were praised by pleased clients. After contacting Juan, he came over almost immediately to provide a quote. I wanted to update my high maintenance, overgrown front yard with low maintenance, drought tolerant plants and pavers. Juan listened to my ideas and provided his own useful knowledge. They were the right group for the job! Shortly afterwards, I also met Michael, the Project Manager. He and Juan manage several work teams that we got to see in action over the next several months. Workers were here religiously 5-6 days a week; usually starting around 9am and working usually until after 5pm in good weather and bad. The teams work incredibly hard and are extremely skilled in all facets of yard construction. Any concerns or glitches were met by almost immediate response by JV, whether or not the request came during the course of the work day.
