I'm speaking from what I experienced with the first project they completed for me last week. I asked for another estimate, which is for board house-to-fence sidewalk with curbs to unify the patio with both sides of the house. They are, even now, working on the second project I requested as I'm typing this review. Alex's Construction is a rare breed in this day of profit over people. He tried to explain that the out of level was to drain properly to the street which I understand, east to west, the water drains south to north not towards the street but puddles on the steel legs of my carport. The level is off 8 inches from south to north, so my carport ended up losing 8 inches of height and was charged extra to remove 8 inches from every leg on north side. The driveway edges were not troweled correctly, ended up all cracked and he came back to fix but already cracked off again, very tacky. They poured concrete on my existing concrete and let it dry, staining the concrete and looks very tacky. They cleaned their wheel barrels in the middle of my yard, along with all the sand and cigarette butts I had to clean up after them. My driveway was left a muddy mess from their power wheel barrels and again had to spend a whole day power washing it myself. Splattered concrete that won't power wash off all over my garage door and driveway along with scratches/dents from the demo and damaged the edge of my existing garage floor. The entry way to my carport pad has leaves dried into and deep marks left in it to dry. I told him I wanted it to match my existing driveway and he broomed it anyway, but did a sloppy job brooming it as well and left leaves and sticks that left surface marks. Broom lines are not straight and leaves were just broomed in as well not removed. He also demands payment at beginning and then before the job is finished... now I see why! Don't bother with this guy! Once it's dry it's too late, don't make my mistake, pay after he is done NOT before! Better yet just find a professional as he is NOT.

The price was very reasonable and better than what I had truly expected for the fencing I wanted. He said when you're ready just let me know. And today it was installed. Needless to say I LOVE IT, and I know the dogs LOVE IT. No more being put on a collar and a rope lead. Dean and his helper got the job done right and as promised. I'll continue to update this review as we move through the process. -------------------------------------------- We hired Nelson Landscaping to improve our poolside area in Edmond, aiming for something cohesive and functional. While the crews were great, the rest of the experience left us frustrated--and stuck with a space that doesn't work. We were sold on flagstone set in decomposed granite (DCG), but in reality it's totally impractical for a pool patio. The DCG is rough on bare feet and constantly washes into the pool, staining our new concrete. Worst of all, the amount of flagstone was drastically underquoted. When I pointed this out, they came back with filler pieces, which helped visually--but it's still not functional. The area is uncomfortable and not practical for furniture or barefoot traffic, which was the entire point of the project. Communication was poor. We were rarely informed when crews would show up, and a comment from the salesman ("all you women want to see what it's going to look like") when I asked for visuals was unprofessional and frustrating. A concrete crack formed within a month, which is still unaddressed a year later as no one returned my multiple calls. I even reached out to the owner whose email address is listed on the website and still only heard back from our salesman. The crews did great work--but the planning, oversight, and professionalism were severely lacking. If you're hiring Nelson Landscaping for pool area landscaping, flagstone patios, or outdoor design in Edmond, ask a lot of questions and don't rely on them to act like the experts. We learned the hard way.
