Fortunately, my worries were completely unfounded. I came in at lunch, and chatted with the staff for a bit. They all seemed intelligent, compassionate, and helpful - they knew my grandmother (who was also visiting), greeted her by name, and were happy to see her. We went through the access-controlled door, and the residents seemed happy. The center was carpeted, there were plenty of seats people were sitting on, reading, talking with friends, etc. My grandfather was far more well-kempt than he ever was at home, and seemed in good spirits. I also loved that outside of every room, there were shadowboxes of information and memorabilia about each resident. It helps humanize each resident, even if they have advanced dementia, and I appreciated that. The staff and visitors should never forget that they're caring for engineers, doctors, soldiers, teachers, etc. Yelp's rating system says that 5 starts is "as good as it gets." I don't know if that's true here, because I don't have the experience necessary to compare. However, if you're looking for a memory care center for a loved one, be sure to check out Riverside.

From my first visit with Director Daniel Collins, then viewing the very beautiful pristine public areas, then the well appointed and comfortable apartments, I knew this was the place for my wife who suffers with Alzheimer's. Kim Ballard, Memory Care Director and her staff, the nurses, physical therapists, everyone, has welcomed us with kind, professional, caring, experienced help and support. My wife began her residency this week. she is content and flourishing. I am now able to rest day and night knowing my wife is being cared for so well. The staff has always been kind and attentive, the facilities and grounds are extremely clean and well maintained, and most importantly they sincerely care for their residents. Throughout the years we have enjoyed many holidays, celebrations, and meals at the Discovery Village. They truly do provide a home like environment, along with meeting the needs of your loved one. The onsite therapy, entertainment, and transportation amenities are also a huge plus! We are thankful we found such a wonderful place for her to call home. Highly Recommend!

Maybe having a family member their could be stressful You Think? With the growing aging population you have plenty of choices and of course its going break down to what your willing to spend or do. Our family decided the location and price was acceptable here and we were close to visit daily to be with them. This was in 2019. Of course with Covid came many challenges the FIL has dementia and MIL can barely get around but the care has been extremely helpful and above anything we could do on our own. We send staff come and go in hasn't been easy for them and the ones that remain are real hero's to us. We see them weekly and there has never been any issues to report, other family members visit different days we have camera installed and everything goes like clockwork for us. I am here this morning and I saw the negative rating and just wanted to make sure this wasn't the case for everyone. Watching someone decline in health is hard it's even harder to make the time and effort to do it yourself in a pandemic. We are grateful for the staff and Legend Oaks for the care of our Family.

I honestly cannot believe it's legal for people to treat people the way he was treated! This place should be closed down. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. Elderly people should be handled a certain way. My father in law wasn't given correct meds or kept on oxygen like he was supposed to be and almost died. He was rushed to the hospital from there and no one told us. He passed out cause he was supposed to be on oxygen 24/7 & he was not. They wouldn't even give him cold ice water at one point. I could go on about what happened in his short time there. If you're wanting to kill your loved one, go ahead and send them to Remarkable. The only thing remarkable is that they haven't been shut down yet!!!!!!

The front desk- Teawanna who spent over an hour trying to help get our mother's television up and going for her move in day-and Alfred and Anthony who repair and help with things that need to get done. There are no words to express the love shown by every single person who works at Bristol. After moving our mom from another facility where she had been for over 17 years, we have the experience necessary to tell anyone that Bristol is a God given and welcome respite for our mom. You know when the facility is a great place when volunteers continue to come even after their loved ones have transitioned to Heaven. No question about it - Bristol is where God chose for our mom! They treated our family member horribly, so much so, she had bruises on her arms from being manhandled, basic and primary needs were NOT met, and she was ignored. Whenever someone did tend to her, she was treated with snarky comments and attitudes, which was witnessed by others. Food was so bad, she lost quite a few pounds (which she couldn't afford to lose) while in that pit for four days. Fortunately, we were able to move her to Green Valley on Rufe Snow, but even that process was difficult. The person in charge of forwarding the paperwork kept stating it was sent to G.V.. However, it wasn't sent until the following day, after countless requests!

Then when she gets there they said they were not going to give her the key because they had an issue in the paperwork. My mom had a meltdown and then they said they will make an exception and gave her an apartment different to the one it was originally planned. Then my mom had issue with the bank issuing the money order and they lock her account, so she asked for them to let her pay on Monday when bank will be next available, then the lady in the office and the manager threatened her to lock her out of the apartment if she didn't make the payment by 6, once we had already moved all of her stuff in the apartment. So here is my mom in a second panic attack, feeling distressed. I mean where is she going to go if she is already there with a one year lease right. If we would not have been there, we are talking of a Saturday night they would have locked her out. It even an apology was given due to all the circumstances, that were honestly out of my mom's control. Imagine all this experience the first day you are moving to a new place, considering how a moving experience is already stressful and this people threaten my mom 2 times in one day. The office personnel, Kristen and Elsa the manager do not know how to treat elderly and they are using mean and scare tactics to manipulate them and make them feel awful and stressed. Be aware of this place, we can predict a very bad treatment to renters and very bad customer service. On top of all this they had originally draw her in offering 3 months rent free, which they then didn't honor. I give one star because at least the apartments are brand new, so hopefully not many maintenance issues will come up.

I showed her the photos and she loved it enough to get her lazy butt up and take a look at it. Sure enough the photos matched up and the place was nice! The staff was super friendly and easy to work. They gave us a tour and answered all our questions professionally and quickly. If you are looking for a good, affordable, and all round senior living center, Riverside is definitely one to check out!
