In an area with a burgeoning population, Edison Mall seems inadequate as the sole indoor shopping center in Lee County. Edison lacks a lot of stores found in most other malls. However, it houses shops I've never heard of, and to its credit, there are no vacancies. For a small and somewhat quiet mall, the anchor stores are impressive: Macy's, Dillard's and Penney's. The food court isn't big, but has the requisite variety of choices. Curiously, there's a sheriff's office inside the mall. "Is there a lot of crime here?" I asked the officer on duty. No ... seems the office is there in a public relations capacity. read more

Edison Mall Ft Myers 5-28-24 Finally took the wife shopping down at the Edison Mall on Memorial Day. We found a parking spot at the food court entrance with no problems. Once inside the food court was large with plenty of places to choose from to eat. The seating area was large and very clean. Lots of families enjoying themselves there. Strolling down the rest of the mall we saw plenty of stores and lots of little stores in the walkways. The mall was clean, safe and we even seen security guards walking around. I will add one of the down sides are the flooring in this mall is in rough shape with lots of cracked tiles under your feet. There are not too many vacant stores or construction going on. This mall is big but laid out weird. There are no maps or diagrams of the mall at any of the entrances to show you where all the stores are located. There are a couple of overhead signs to tell you where major stores or food courts are but that's about all we found. If you want to find a particular store you will have to hunt it or maybe google it, I found that weird. I forgot to mention the Twisted Crab restaurant was beside the food court if you wanted a sit-down restaurant instead of the food court. I will be reviewing it soon. There are way too many stores to mention but you should visit this place as it's a fun day of shopping, eating and its very safe there. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars because of all the different stores but the cracked floors and no diagrams of stores I subtracted one star. See you on my next adventure. Edison Mall is a mid-level indoor shopping mall. It is the oldest mall in Fort Myers. If you are looking for upscale shopping, go down to Naples or Miami. The anchor stores are Macy's, Sears, Dillard's and JCPenney. Of course, they have Victoria Secrets, Disney Store, Aeropostale, American Eagle Outfitters, etc. as well Sports Memorabilia for your favorite teams. The layout is simple. One end goes to Sears and other end go to Dillard's with JCPenney and Macy's in the middle. Store directory is easy to find. There were some major renovations during the last two years to improve the facility. I like indoor mall especially during the brutal hot Summer and torrential raining season. Park near one of anchor store and you will not have problem locating your car! There is small food court that offer mix of Asian food, Philly Cheesesteak, Mexican, Burgers King, Italian, Subway, and several ice cream, gelato shops and, creperies. A good size Mexican Restaurant by the name of Monarcas is located next to JCPenney. Well, there is even a small Yogurt Mountain inside the bookstore, BooksaMillion. This is a mall where you can walk around, window shop, have a drink at Starbucks or snack on a churro, deep fried Twinkies or fried Oreos cookies or pizza or a full lunch or dinner without breaking your bank account. Kids can have fun here. There are a number of game rooms and two small bungy jumps in front of Dillard's and many remote control exotic kid's cars for rental. read more

Nice and busy indoor mall and it's packed well with mid-level shopping. This is not a high-end mall with stores the people can't really afford. This is loaded with stores that people could actually buy stuff. I liked it. Wide enough spaces and the stores are well lit. It's crowded and it's Florida so I was not surprised to see a number of different security guards on patrol. Macy's, Sears, Dillards and JCPenney are the main anchors here. Layout of the mall is a central loop with branches stretching off in one direction to Dillard's and in another direction to Sears. Big food court that was also very busy and very loud. Edison Mall - Signage in the Edison Mall, Fort Myers FL - Shopping Centers Near Me - Fort Myers, Florida

Me and two of my friends stoped in the store FYE my friend bought a CD and when he was checking out a male associate asked him to join a paid rewards program. My friend said no about 3 times but the cashier insisted and signed him up anyways not taking no as an answer. When confronted the associate tried to play it off like he didn't know what we were talking about. My friend asked him SPECIFICALLY "Will this charge me anything"? He said "No". Not a complete lie after 30 days it will charge you. EXTREMELY misleading to people who wouldn't look more into it. Cashier 155581 on register 1. Would definitely avoid spending your money here. read more

This mall is very nice. A big assortment of stores, not half closed down like many malls are becoming these days. Did not stop at the food court, but looked to be a nice variety of choices there. I got a haircut that turned from Clay at Barber shop that turned out very nice. Stopped at Cafe In for very good & friendly coffee drinks. Would return and would recommend this nice mall! read more

Update: there's a small kiosk in the mall where they sell custom masks, yet the employees are not wearing masks at all. If I'm selling a product, I'm going to demo it or give samples or wear it. Since the mall requires everyone that enters to wear a mask, I'm pretty sure this guy isn't exempt from wearing a mask. There were 2 employees, both not wearing a mask. read more

It's an older mall but it has everything you'd need for a mall. It's pretty clean. There aren't a bunch of empty stores like other malls and that's surprising. I'd recommend going here. Even the food court has a pretty good selection. read more

I spent many days here with friends growing up. I loved going to Edison. It was really our only mall and compared to other malls it's small and doesn't have some of the thrills others do. We used to eat Chick fil a in the food court, which I hear is no longer there. Sad. In fact, this was the first place I'd ever had it. It's in a fairly sketchy area. But a lot of ft Myers out that way is now. read more

Nice Mall especially since there aren't any indoor malls in this area anymore. I will say I was very disappointed that they didn't have it decorated for Christmas at all that was one of the nicest things about going to a mall at this time of year. read more

This mall hasn't been renovated since 1994 when I was born, and even then it was outdated but at least it had air conditioning and wasn't disgustingly filthy. This mall reeks of depression, and just needs to be knocked down in my opinion. Every store is tiny, hot, and cluttered. It's hard to find a employee in any store especially the department stores, if and when they do magically show up it's because they think you're stealing their overpriced stuff. Just a ghost town honestly - tear it down. read more

I am obsessed with old malls. I get such a strong sense of nostalgia when I step into one. This mall is no different. Edison has a unique layout where there are almost little hallways. Some stores have "corners" which you don't normally see. Most of the ones I frequent are just straight corridors. That makes it nice for merchandising. All in all it's a good mall with all the basics you need. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Scary, smelly and truly worried for my life. There's barely any stores wirth going to this mall for

A decent mall for the area -- Macy's, Sears Dillard's, etc. Pluses are that the air conditioning was working full blast; there are numerous areas with benches and chairs for people to stop and rest, and visible phone charging stations. Store Directories are easy to find too. And I got a great 20 minute foot/leg massage at a kiosk (J & L Fast Massage) for only $20. The food court is small with the usual Asian restaurants, but it also had a Burger King, a good Italian gelato stall, and a local Caribbean restaurant (with ox tail and brown stewed chicken). And there were quite a number of shoppers mid week which I was glad to see supporting our retail community. read more

I read the reviews and for some reason still stopped by the Edison Mall. It was such a disappointment. The mall is not only tired but the two stores that I visited showed no enthusiasm. They actually sucked the joy out of the thought of spending money. The merchandise was poorly displayed and ransacked to the point that I felt like I was at a rummage sale. Since the prices are the same as stores in better malls I am not sure why they get away with creating an underprivileged and depressing atmosphere. If you are spending the same dollar amount why not go where your arrival feels appreciated and respected? It is so much more enjoyable to shop in stores where the merchandise is organized, displayed nicely and a cheerful staff is available to assist. Of course I realize that not every store in this mall falls in the same category as the two that I visited but I didn't feel up to testing it. read more

Want to buy perfume? Just bought perfume, and forgot about some other perfume you needed, but now you're at least seventy steps from the last perfume store, and you don't really want to backtrack? Drop your phone when you realized you forgot more perfume, and cracked your Hello Kitty case? Was it your girlfriend's phone, who's now mad at you to the point at which only a $100 CZ ring from Zales can reconcile? Even standard big names have bailed, save Sbarro's, Sears and (a waning) Macy's. There's a Radio Shack, inexplicably, so maybe if you walk in expecting it to be a fragrant museum to shops and cellular accessories gone by, you'll be pleasantly fulfilled. Otherwise, the outdoor malls 5-15 miles south are better suited to meet your needs. Unless that need is perfume. #perfume read more

I couldn't find anything in the mall. As my friend and I were leaving, a woman approached us. I said no card please and her response was I don't care. She was the woman working at the flat iron and hair dryer. She then started to harass my friend like I didn't exist. This kiosk is sketchy. Don't trust the blonde round your man. read more

very boring mall , not enough variety of stores unless your a jewelry or clothing freak . I remember when you went to a mall and you could spend at least 2 hours because of the unique shops and variety , im lucky i spend about 15 min a month at this mall , the only store i go into here is the books a million and even that isnt a good bookstore . They got so much empty wasted space that they can use to put more variety of stores like the abandoned building that used to be sears. Its a shame that i dont even do my Christmas shopping or gift shopping at this poor excuse of a mall and end up shopping on line because i have better choice and variety . Dont waste your time with this place, your better off shopping on line read more

The food court smelled like rancid grease which infused the rest of the surrounding stores in the mall! Not at all impressed!

The Edison mall is a sad example of what is happening to so many indoor malls in America. I enjoy the Dillards because it has held onto the Dillard's standard for Customer service and cleanliness. I also like the Macy's home store (Hotel Collection sheets are the best!) although I've been to much nicer Macy's in other towns. The rest of the mall is a bit eerie. Lots of people sitting around, weird stores and kiosks, and lots of empty spaces. There is a large bus stop on one side of the mall that is full of characters! I make it a point not to come here after dark for safety reasons. The Edison mall is useful if there is a store you need to go to that happens to be in the mall or if there is a particular item you need that a store there carries. But, for an enjoyable day of shopping, head to Miromar Outlets, Coconut Point, or Waterside in Naples. read more

This place is a joke. Stopped in after dropping vehicle off for service at Firestone. Everything is closed down and can't get in until after 11. This whole mall should be blown up and put in a new outdoor mall that serves all of Fort Myers. Get rid of this antiquated facility. read more

Well when anyone goes to Ft Myers/Cape Coral, they usually do these things: 1. Go fishing. Cape Coral has maybe the best fishing of anywhere in the U.S. Tarpon. Snook. Redfish. Sea Trout. Snapper. Catfish. Grouper. The list goes on and on ... Guides are really booked up here, especially if you know where to go and what to do. 2. Go boating. With 200 miles of canals, everyone has a dock and a boat from 5 feet to 75 feet. Then you can go out into the river and farther out to the Gulf. With the water getting greener and greener, dodging all of the other watercraft on their merry ways. Who is unhappy on a boat? No one that's who. Every human being from 3 to 93 loves to sit on a boat and take off into some type of water body. It's instant vacation and on an 80 degree day, which is every day in Cape Coral from October to May, the wind and spray are only better for the body, soul and spirit. Especially when you have a pod of dolphins playing and jumping in the boat wake as you speed along. 3. Go shelling and walking on Sanibel and Captiva Island. It's only a hop, skip and jump over the bridge and you are in a Caribbean-type island with gorgeous white beaches filled with the most amazing shells you have ever seen in your life. A perfect place for a honeymoon trip or an anniversary trip or a well needed getaway from civilization. Nothing beats shelling on Sanibel. 4. Go to the Ford/Edison museum. Did you know that both Henry Ford and Thomas Edison had homes in Ft Myers? They could live wherever they wanted but they both chose this part of the country to be in. And having bought two homes over the internet sight unseen, I really understand why they spent their winters here. It's perfect. No crowds. No smog. All outdoor activities and I have to be outdoors as much as I possibly can be. Or at least have the windows open to the sun. Clouds really get to me and when it gets dark at 4:30, I am not a happy man. 5. Go shopping. This is where this place really stinks. There is literally NO upscale shopping anywhere in SW Florida outside of Naples and Sarasota. The Edison Mall is the biggest in the area but it is like going to Oakridge or Valley Fair. Totally low-budget. It's dirty, with pushy people and in-a-hurry tourists clad with hawaiian-type shirts and striped shorts and pulled up black socks bumping in to you or trying to park their oversized Cadillac into a compact spot. So if you are used to better, prepared to be majorly disappointed when it comes to perfume-smelling shopperies like Bloomie's, Macy's or Neiman's. Elegance is out in C.C./F.M. Especially with respect to Edison Mall. You might like Bell Tower, it's nicer but not New York, San Francisco nice. read more

After reading these 1-2 star reviews, I was SCARED. However I stayed in Ft. Myers for a week straight and had nothing to do after work. I decided to risk it and go to the mall. It's SMALL, however NOT BAD, NOT TINY and a descent selection of stores. I've been to HORRIBLE malls in small cities, and this was not one of them. All in all, I was happy to walk around, window shop, drink my starbucks and waste time. Stores were nice, people were friendly and place was clean. No, this is NOT a high end mall (gucci, LV, etc).... however it's the average mall with the regular stores (gap, fye, etc).... read more

3 stars! Nothing super exciting about this indoor mall, as I prefer hitting up Coconut Point outdoor mall or Miromar Outlets when I want to get a solid shopping trip in. However, there is a pretty good variety of stores (American Eagle, Loft, Victoria's Secret, Guess, Bath & Body Works to name a few) and department stores (Macys, Dillards, JC Penney). As a former New Yorker, super happy with the Macy's option! Wish they had an H&M though. In fact, wish there was an H&M anywhere in the Fort Myers area. Naples is the closest one. Not cool!!!! The Food Court has the gamut of fast food quality options, as can be expected. It would be great if they got a Chick-Fil-A or Chipotle in there. If your going the fast food route, you might as well go with the good stuff. Also, there is no movie theater in the mall, but I actually like that they don't have one. A movie theater tends to become a big hangout spot on weekends, which would change the family-friendly dynamic that you get here, thankfully. Located conveniently off of 41 right after Colonial and plenty of parking available. Just make sure you remember where you come in as the layout of the mall is a bit odd. I recommend parking and entering by a department store, so you know exactly where you are. I wish they opened earlier on Sundays, as 11:30am is quite late for a mall in my opinion. I'm sure I'll be returning time and again for certain things. It could be a good escape from the brutal Florida heat or rain, but it's not one of my top choices for shopping! read more

I recently moved to Fort a Myers and due to other yelp reviews I put off checking this mall out. My opinion is unlike most of the others because I liked it! Nope it isn't a mall full of luxury shops which is good because I can actually buy things instead of just window shop. Lots of little areas to entertain kids and a kids club with events throughout the year. Plus there are comfy chairs for the bored men scattered throughout. Their is a great Disney Store here! And a small Yogurt Mountain inside the BooksAMillion. read more

Edison Mall is a typical American mall with typical mall stores. It's the only "typical" mall in the Ft. Myers area (not an outlet mall, outdoor mall, high end mall, strip mall). Evenings and weekends the clientele gets a little shady, but if you know where to park and stores to go to you can avoid most of it (outside of Dillard's or Macy's 1 I find are the best). The parking lot isn't that great, some parts are not well lit at night, and overall it's a pain to get in and out of. Overall fine if you need a typical mall store. Review #800. read more

I can't complain about this mall. Yes, it does rather remind me of the small malls from the seventies minus the fountains or water features. However, they've come into the modern era with cell phone charging stations. The mall has a Macy's which is a must for me although it's not the best as far as Macy's goes. Plus they've done what a few of the smaller malls are doing and split the Macy's sections into different locations within the mall. Love the Dillard's too! Loft, Claire's, F.Y.E, Aeropostale,Lids, The Body Shop, Victoria's Secret, Sears, etc., Decent food court with at least two cold treat options. One thing is this mall has a weird layout. Almost as if it snakes around. Plenty of parking throughout the lot. read more

I guess it is en vogue to hate on this mall. I don't get it, do people really come to FL to mall shop? Seriously, the malls here have the same stuff the malls in the frozen north have. This isn't a bad mall if you have to go. If you want upscale shopping, consider Miami or Naples. read more

I'm biased, I'll admit, when I write this review of Edison. I hail from cities with exceptionally good mall choices (Atlanta and St. Louis, both), but even so, Edison Mall really only fits among the lower offering malls in both places. Sad but true. I came to Ft. Myers with my boyfriend a few weeks ago when we were visiting his sister who'd just had a baby boy. As you may imagine, the new mom (for the second time) was in pretty desperate need to get out of the house for a few hours with her three week old, and we were happy to oblige. The mall trip actually killed two birds with one stone: get the baby out in public and I got to see where my boyfriend's first job in the States was after moving up here from Trinidad & Tobago. When we got to Edison Mall, he told me it looked much as it had when we worked there at Berdine's (now Macy's). What it said to me was "I was built quite a while ago and am in need of a major facelift and updating." The collection of stores is much the same as you'd expect at any slightly-below-middle-of-the-road mall: Books a Million store, Bath & Body Works, Macy's, Express, Frederick's of Hollywood, Claire's, etc. and a food court, of course. We made a complete loop of the mall and I saw the Macy's, which used to be Berdine's. We also ended up eating at a funny Sbarro buffet-style place in the mall, as the baby had fallen asleep and the more he slept, the better. All in all, Edison serves the purpose of the residents of Ft. Myers, but I'm glad it's not my primary mall. read more
