Oh I think I heard it was a scholarship or tuition based school. What it takes to qualify I don't know. You gotta do some research! My advice to scholars: straight A's, state standard testing and extracurricular activities and hobbies and travel when young are the way to go! All the best luck to the kids who do go here! My business class with Ms. English have us an opportunity to learn real life stocks and trading. Why we would buy a stock and when not to buy a stock. We also learned financial planning tools. My computer class gave me the knowledge I needed to continue to grow with the fast paced changing of paper to electronics. Mind you I graduated in 2005 so computers were just starting to take over traditional pen to paper. My teachers really looked out for me and cared. Truly cared. I went through a really tough time and was sadly very depressed. I was able to get guidance and talk to an amazing counselor who helped me achieve my goals and get me through high school. I met my best friend in high school. I was finally not being bullied and when I did get bullied Mrs. Shenk played no games. I appreciate Mr. Ronzoni for his patience with me and not just correcting a paper, but showing me my mistakes and explaining them to me. It is making me the best paralegal and writer I can be currently. I loved going to the Flossie Shop and talking to Mrs. Gallagher (R.I.P.) on my lunch and her smile could brighten anyone's day. I miss her so much! To this day LF is a part of my life and I cherish every moment. I moved to Philly from NYC in 2004 and now my daughter is going there -- and I thank God that we no longer have to send her to some below average snooty private school in Brooklyn or Manhattan. This is the best school I've ever encountered. My daughter was very nervous when she first started, and now she's doing very, very well. My friends who are still in NYC lament the private schools where their children are going... places where all the millionaires and famous people send their kids. I…read morehave interacted with so many staff that hate their jobs that its a shame, even the school Police. All of the bathrooms are always locked. There is no time of day they can use the bathroom without having to find a staff member first. Its worse than prison. It is a basic human right to be able to use a bathroom. When you walk in the office you're are lucky if you're greeted. Once you are hopefully it is not from the rude one that sits directly to the left of the office door. She is very rude when talking to people, all while sucking her teeth and huffing and puffing under her breath that she now has to do her job. If that's not bad enough she snatches your documents out of your hand too. We are not fully five months into the school year yet, my husband and I have been up to the school at least twice a month since school started for bulling. Teachers keep the kids past the bell and expect them to have to serve a detention with the next teacher because they don't give them a note. Today we had to go up there because she was being bullied during class time and the teacher did NOTHING my daughter ended up so upset so felt NO other choice but to pack her belongings and leave the class. Don't even get me started on the lack of education on top of it. At this point we feel we have NO other choice but to remove her from this school. She has endured enough!! I could keep going, but I won't I'm you get the point I'm trying to make.
