Randomly about a week later a crew showed up on a day we were going to be gone. No warning. They started working and we started to leave. The supervisor flags us down and asks for payment in full. We explained that we did not have the payment yet as it had not been transferred into the account we were paying them with. He firmly stated that they needed payment right then. The job was just started, we were not contacted that they were coming that day. My husband ran back in the house to write a check and asked them not to cash it until the next week. They agreed. The job was supposed to be completed that day. When we got home later that evening we noticed there were several things that had not been completed. In the meantime our check did clear. What followed was 2 weeks of bad communication and promises broken. They would say they would be at our house at a certain time and day and then not show up, and not text or call with a reason. We always had to call them. Finally my husband got pretty direct with the owner and told him how disappointed we were with the situation and that he just wanted the job completed. He was gaslighted a bit by the owner. The next day the owner finally completed the work. For this we appreciate that he finally honored his word. This company touts their faith as the backbone of their business. The landscape stonework was done very nicely. Unfortunately, 3 of the 7 bushes they planted died. We are just happy to be done with the situation and suggest to the owner and his supervisor's to just communicate with their future customers. That is pretty easy in a time of texting and cell phone technology.

We felt the selection of available trees at Fairfield was good and their goods prices were on par with others, but their delivery and install was steep. We ended up choosing 3 crepe myrtles and in light of our ages and weather heat, chose to pay for FF to deliver & install. (One would think they'd discount multiple items going to same address but they didn't) Delivery / Install staff were polite, timely, and thorough in their work.

Days later we met him at the nursery office to see the plan. After we saw it, we told him we wanted to make some changes to the plan (modify the colors, the plants, remove the boulders, see how we might lower the cost), he became rude and told us he had worked a long time on the design plan and if he'd have known he wouldn't have given it that much time and energy. We were shocked he didn't even want to discuss changes. He just kept saying, "if I'd only known." On top of this, he told us it would be months until they could do our landscaping project, and when we asked if it could be sooner, he huffed and became belligerant, telling us that was not possible, and if we went with another company that could do it sooner, that company must not be any good. Seriously! Talk about ego! Does this guy not realize its OUR home and OUR money? He needs an extended course in Customer Service. We just got up and walked out of the office. We are thankful we "saw the light" before we signed any papers with Village Palms.

Further when their men were running out of sod on the day of install--the grabbed any bad pieces they could find and just cut and jigsaw puzzled them into the driveway portion of my lawn making the lawn look TERRIBLE. They did not roll out my sod, thus resulting three weeks later in a sinkhole type ground depression, and most of the other sod in my yard is getting infected with the red fungus and sedge. I had asked their onsite supervisor twice to replace or repair my lawn....MICO refused, and simply referred me back to the builder. THIS IS A MARK OF POOR SERVICE AND QUALITY CONTROL IN MY PERSONAL OPINION. I WOULD PERSONALLY HAVE TO REALLY THINK HARD BEFORE EVER USING MICRO CUSTOMS in the Villages, FL for any of my lawn or home needs if they can't even bother to fix what they do wrong. The owner of the firm is Michael Manley. I personally think if Michael wants to have a GOOD reputation, he'd think long and hard about how he treats customers for work he does. Purchased a new home in The Villages in July of 2016 and after 1.7yrs the glass-insert on one the…read more8ft french doors leading to the linai sprung a leak and started to cloud up. It wasn't a crital item that needed to be replaced right away. It was more cosmetic than anything. But the manufacturer warranty for the insert was good for 2yrs which was only 3 months away. The Villages "Home Warranty" is only good for a year and after that you have to work it out yourself with the installer or manufacturer of the item in question. I called MiCO Customs, who did the install, and they let me know it could be scheduled no sooner than 3 months because their schedule was full. They could schedule me just prior to the warranty expiring. I called MiCO back and said I wasn't comfortable about scheduling the replacement so close to the warranty's expiration date. They then scheduled me right away to have a different company Al & Sons to do the work. The insert was replaced by a very competent installer from Al & Sons and, per the warranty, was charged only for installation which was very reasonable for the work involved. Richard G.
