These ladies served, kept things hot, fresh, refilled and just knocked the socks off everyone. They came early set it all up, and stayed for the duration of the shower , broke it all down and cleaned it up!! They took the stress out of hosting a shower to enjoying every part of it!! I received an answer almost instantly with a few clarifying questions, paid for my order and waited for the day of the luncheon. They arrived about 10-15 minutes prior to the time requested which worked out great. Everyone at the company is super friendly and helpful, driver included. The box lunches were great. We had opted for a sandwich and 2 sides. Each lunch also contained a fruitcup or applesauce, a pickle spear, chips, a cookie or brownie, as well as condiments, a mint and cutlery with napkin. That should fill up the even the hungriest of our employees. I for one appreciate reliability in a caterer since there is nothing worse than a room full of hungry people and no food. I figured a half-dozen would keep me in check. The masa of the tamales was soft and fluffy, and not dry at all. The meat inside was tender and a little bit spicy. The tamales were given to me at the stage where they were just undercooked (which is a good thing!). So when I got home, I put them in a big pot with my steamer to finish cooking them. Upon ordering via their Facebook page, Las Tortugas sent me directions with how to warm up the tamales, in case I didn't already know how to do it. Las Tortugas is a food truck, and they are parked outside of Grand Junction Brewing Co. in Westfield, very close to Grand Park. They are not affiliated with the brewery, however. From my experience and from what I've gathered, you can order your food via their Facebook page or call them, and then you go and pick it up from the truck that's parked in the Grand Junction parking lot (it's easy to spot). It's a very easy ordering process! I'd like to try some more of their food at some point!
