One of the places I called suggested I contact Jordan Florist. I called them on 4/10 and the young lady I spoke to said that she would look up the obituary and send the flowers to the funeral home handling things today to make sure they are delivered to the church on time. Noone else offered to do this for me. Good customer service is rare these days so I was pleasantly surprised by the lengths this florist was willing to go to ensure that the flowers would arrive at the church on time!! I used this florist due to being close to the recipient. I live out of state, so I relied on Yelp…read moreto pick a florist in CT. I had an absolutely awful experience with this florist. I ordered off of THEIR website (not a third party, like Teleflora etc.) On their website I saw a beautiful ficus tree, which I ordered as a sympathy gift for a family member who lost their mother. "Same day delivery" was available, which I chose. My order was completed by 11:30 am, with confirmation of a delivery by "end of day." Their website stated they closed at 5pm. At 4:56 pm I received a voicemail from the owner, Erin, stating that the ficus tree wasn't available, and she couldn't deliver it until Tuesday. I ordered on a Thursday for SAME DAY DELIVERY, so this would mean FIVE DAYS LATER, they would receive their sympathy tree. The voicemail I received did not at any point express an apology or convey any type of remorse for the situation. I wish I could attach the voicemail here, as it was just unbelievable how callous it was. I called back, but they were closed. I called the following morning and spoke with Erin, the new owner. She just restated the same thing she said in the voicemail, again not acknowledging any regret on her part. I asked her why it was that she called 4 minutes before they closed to tell me it couldn't be delivered. She snapped "I have strep throat, I had just come in." I said "you didn't even offer an apology!" She sarcastically says to me "Oh, I'm soooo sorry." I asked if she thought it was ok that a same day delivery would be delivered 5 days later. She replied with, "how is Thurs-Tues 5 days?" I mean...did she have strep in her brain? Because that's 5 days! When I pointed out her being wrong, she then told me she didn't appreciate my sarcasm (I wish I was kidding). If this woman hadn't already charged my credit card, I would have simply hung up. There is so much more that transpired, but this review is already too long. Basically she told me she is very sick with her sore throat, the nursery is an hour away, she's a business owner for 25 years, blah blah blah. She said "What is it you want Ma'am?" I said "if the tree can't be delivered until 5 days, I think you should contact the recipient & apologize for the delay, as well as send a SMALL arrangement for the error." She immediately refused and said I was being completely unreasonable, and she "wasn't going to absorb a cost due to a plant not being available when I want it." Yes...she really said that. So now I had enough and demanded my credit card be credited back immediately. She said it would take 5-7 days. I went nutso at this point and told her it better be credited by the morning. She had the audacity to tell me "that's not how life works." I honestly thought I was gonna have a stroke at this point, as my blood pressure was boiling. Well...the credit was there the next day, so I guess that is how life works. Sorry this is so long, but I had a lot of venting to do. Reminder that this was a sympathy gift for a close family member, I didn't need this grief during that time. Stay far away... I ended the call with "I'm going to Yelp the @*#! out of you." She said "Have fun with that." I did Erin...I did.

Unfortunate bait and switch during a difficult time. I ordered The Yellow Trio Basket. The…read moredescription read: "This delightful basket holds a plethora of sunny yellow flowering plants! So sweet, it's no wonder a darling little yellow bird has built its nest inside the basket. Two bright yellow miniature rose plants, plus a yellow kalanchoe and begonia are nestled right beside the little bird and her nest. It's all delivered in a charming round basket. It sends three times the cheer!" This arrangement was chosen as I support local florists and found that this florist offered a basket that honored exactly what the deceased loved; gardening and bird watching. I was shocked and mortified at what was actually delivered. There was never a call from the florist communicating that they did not have any of the items listed and would need to make substitutions. If that had happened I can assure you that a butterfly with a black x of tape across the back, pussy willows and a nose diving dove would never have been requested. Daffodils will never replace roses. When I called the shop thinking there had to have been a mix up- the woman I spoke to was very satisfied with her work, she stood firm behind defiant and all the while a man was screaming in the background. She did offer to send a bouquet of flowers to the recipient, I declined as I am fearful what would have been delivered. At one point they even said they would go pick the arrangement up from a grieving widow- what sort of customer service would even suggest that? You either make it right or you don't. They chose not to by stating what was sent was comparable to what I ordered. Let my $116 order and the photos uploaded help you chose who you order bereavement arrangements from in the future. Very unfortunate to have to experience such horrible customer service especially under the circumstances for which the order was placed. Buyer beware. Update: after my phone call- they added a disclaimer to their website about substitutions. Why order from a florist who now basically states "you get what you get and don't get upset" So very sad. Update part 2 - we recreated the original basket on our own with the help from Michaels and a couple of local florists who were mortified when the saw what has now been dubbed "the do it yourself Easter arrangement" Like if you paid to go to a beginners floral class as Michaels and you chose an item from each station to fit into your $3 basket. There are good people willing to help under sad circumstances. I hope the owner takes this feedback and does better. Bereavement flowers NEVER should have looked like that. Ever.
