My 3 month old baby was enrolled here for only a few weeks and the entire time I was on the hunt…read morefor a different daycare. I will say, the staff was very friendly and I do think they took good care of my child; however, I just couldn't look past the dirt and grim...The bin they give you to put your baby's diapers/personal items in, there was dirt in it - I guess from a previous child? It looked like it hadn't been wiped down in years- eeeew! Regarding the common areas: I understand it's a daycare with lots of kids running around, so it's probably hard to keep the place spotless, but there were so many things that just seemed grungy to me. It was really hard for me to look past it. Every time I walked in the building it smelled like the inside of a diaper pail. (I get it...there's a lot of dirty diapers that get changed daily, but the whole place doesn't need to smell like it). The daycare is located in the basement of a church, so they are limited to the amount of space they have, but the infant room is very small. There's hardly any space for the babies to move around once they start crawling/walking. It was also always super warm in the baby room. My daughter even had a heat rash one day. Also, because of the limited space, the main hallway was always a total cluster... The extra cribs and nap time mats were lined up against the walls and the the baby carriers were stacked everywhere. LASTLY, I was starting to get pretty irritated because the lead teacher in the baby room kept giving my baby a pacifier - someone else's pacifier! I said multiple times that my baby did not take a pacifier, but again and again I'd pick her up at the end of the day and there would be a pacifier with her. The teacher said she sterilized it before giving it to her, but that's besides the point! If I'm telling you not to give my baby a pacifier, then please respect my wishes as the parent. I'd like to mention that I did tour this daycare prior to enrolling my child and I did have my initial concerns but I tried to look past them because I had received multiple recommendations for Grace Edgett. I really wish we would have had a better experience, but unfortunately, this daycare just wasn't the right fit for our family.

Our toddler HATED daycare. He attended a rather large facility in Boone County for about a year…read more Most of the staff was nice enough, but there were SO MANY ISSUES. I could go on for days. But I digress... The Growing Place has changed our perspective towards child care and early learning development as well as far surpassed our expectations as parents who were apprehensive to keep him in a daycare environment. Clean, secure, organized, bright, cheerful and with a smart layout containing classrooms, a cafeteria, and play area, The Growing Place is aesthetically pleasing for children and parents alike. It feels more like a school and less like a place to drop your kids to hang out while you're at work. I love the cleanliness of the facility. They stress the children should be washing their hands frequently. At his former facility, he was sick ALL THE TIME. He has had one runny nose during his first month at The Growing Place. ONE. Incredible. Potty training is going so smooth and they are helping him learn each day instead of giving him set times to be changed or use the toilet. The pricing is absolutely fair, as well. I'm excited to see how he continues to grow and learn. He's so happy to go to school now and so excited to see me and show me what he's accomplished every day. Instead of running to me in fear at the end of the day, begging to go home, he stays and says goodbye to his friends and teachers and shows me his drawings or crafts he's completed that day. The updates via SchoolVine are an excellent bonus and I feel like they truly pay attention to each child as an individual. Needless to say, we are so happy with The Growing Place!

It's not worth the money. The preschool is not really any better than a daycare. The people there…read moredon't pay attention to your children my kid on many occasions told me she was being hit. How can you not even be aware of this? They hire or train people who are there for credits of part-time pay who don't care. Then some of the more highly paid people really don't care either they're getting payed ridiculous amounts of money to do what a daycare does. They're more interested on how soon. They can get home. These people put the answer to the question on why our education is so bad. Its a scam as far as I'm concerned.

I have never put my children into this center. I would advise you to do the same. I was skeptical…read moreat the beginning when I was briefly considering it, and after reading the poor reviews I decided to find a qualified babysitter instead. I actually took a class on campus with a girl who claimed to "work" there. She was complaining about how hard it was to watch the kids and immediately began blaming the parents for not "disciplining them at all". After reading that they regularly hit the kids, (Which early childhood education class did they take that taught them that that was ever okay?!) it made sense to me why she was complaining. These students are basically children themselves and have no experience, so you get what you pay for. This girl who was just running her mouth, by the way, was unaware that I have children, and I kept it that way. Clearly, they lack the maturity and the patience to care for and watch your children adequately. I would love to see this center employ only knowledgeable adults, not kids who just want easy money or college credit. It's really disappointing that this is all my school had to offer.
