I can only review based on the baby room, so I'm unfamiliar with what the previous reviewer was…read moretalking about. But as far as baby rooms go, this one is pretty great. My daughter previously went to one of the "best" daycares in Bloomington (and most expensive!!). But, only the best for her, as they say. Anyway, at the end of the day she seemed ready to go. Like she'd had a nice, full day but that was that... Here I have to practically drag her away kicking and screaming! She just can't get enough. I really love that Mandy and Jess are completely child led. The day's activities are based on what the kids feel like doing, and everyday is an adventure. Lots of times the babies will mingle with the ECP classroom, or even bigger kids than that on the playground. Ani LOVES school. I will say that it is still fairly expensive (and in fact if she were to go for the same number of hours that she went to her previous school, it would actually be more expensive). However, we live in the US and that's the current state of affairs. I do really appreciate that they charge by the hour, so you can monitor what you'll end up paying each month and make it fit what you need. Mandy and Jess really do adore the kids and I am so happy to be able to send my girl there!

Before I dive in - I'm probably going to catch flak from anyone I know, especially since I know two…read morepeople that work here. I also think that there is a certain type of child that can benefit from Harmony. I just don't know what type. Based on a month and a half of school, I'm not terribly impressed. Starting with the office - There is no usable calendar to figure out what is going on beyond a week. When I contacted someone about the printable calendar, which had zero updates, I was just told to look at the online google calendar. That was of little help because I still had to click dates to find out anything. This tells me that at least some of the staff simply can't be bothered to cover all of the bases, which is not a great look. If you look at the website and click on the accreditation listed, I suggest you click on the link and read the page. To me, there was a whole lot of nothing. There were loose references to learning, but nothing about overall educational goals or child wellness or anything to that effect. The class sizes are small, which can be good. There is not the same variety as MCCSC. Kids tend to have a lot of freedom here, which is why it might work better for some kids than others. Mine is not really thrilled with the setup. She had been in MCCSC for 2 years and is now at Harmony at the behest of her mother. The memorable moments for me are the class snake and a field trip where the kids got covered in ticks. I don't know if the teachers have to be accredited or not. The building is nice, old, and historical, which is cool. The kids have cubbies and lockers in the hall they are allowed to decorate. Harmony has been around a while. Some students and former students speak very highly of it. That's why I don't write it off completely. I just know that a month and a half in, and I could not tell you any bit of actual learning that's been done.
