Sure, it is quiet here at times with little going on so people who are used to breaking laws elsewhere without problems can run into them here. Depending on who you talk to you'll get a different opinion from people about the police here. If you're talking to a local then they know that since things are low crime here they can pay attention to smaller offenses like going 15 over the speed limit. Most people though, whether visiting or just going around town understand that so there aren't any problems. Every now and then though you'll get your ear screamed off by someone with a bad experience, I've heard many. Anything from a coworker running a stop sign in a neighborhood, to speeding and plowing through cross walks while they are full of people. Those situations should speak for themselves though. Every officer I interacted with has been very understanding while still holding you to the law and that's what matters. For the few people that do only have complaints and ranting and yelling about them...well...I think we know those people just don't like being told they are the ones in the wrong. They are just in it to collect money from tourists. I appealed and I received a response "This is not a parking lot". Obviously they just rip off the tourist. Not the first time I have heard of this kind of action in New Smyrna. I guess you have to keep an eye out for the sharks on land as well.

Last month I was in an urgent care on Avalon Park Blvd and an employee at this urgent care started making sexual gestures towards me and my son felt uncomfortable and left. I went to go make a police report for sexual harassment and was given a report # and phone number to call, the first officer said that this was a crime and I need to make a report. I call up the number and get transferred to a police officer who then tells me it's not against the law to make sexual gestures towards anyone, and I even recorded this conversation and then was told he's not making a report. The laziest and most corrupt gang in the world. F the police and this BS government and Country.... The reviews says it all....
