Now I'm at fault for spending 38$ for what -literally- amounted to a bag of chips + less hamburger than in on taco as a 'loaded nacho plate', two orders of ~ 1 measuring cup of macaroni and cheese, and a chicken plate (chicken on a plate) + mashed potatoes (instant? hard to tell). By now you are saying that I'm exaggerating and that can't have been 38$, well you are right ... they also forgot to give us a salad. Since we had this to-go AND they had apparently hooked into the hotel system to charge orders they couldn't trace this. -- I understand that you are staying at the (now) Ramada b/c it's literally the best option in the area but if you read this and Don't hit up the internet to find your local good eats, it's shame on you. :)

Prices are spot on and, surprisingly, they have a decent kitchen. I say opt for the hot pepper cheese balls, and the fish sandwich is a nice snack at the bar anytime of day. However, the thing about this spot that sticks with me the most was the conversation between two patrons as we entered the bar: Patron 1: Why I could strangle the life out of you right now. I'd place my hands on your scrawny throat and just squeeze Patron 2: The Hell you say. You couldn't strangle a fly Patron 3: I bet $5 he could...Definitely, if he strangled him from behind Patron 4: You're crazy and you don't even have $5 Patron 1 &2: Hey! That's no way to strangle anyone..You have to do it from the front so's you got leverage....Yeah, don't you know nothing? Patron: Hell, I know I got $5 enough to strangle the lot of you! This went on for several minutes until our bartender, a man obviously experienced in such bar room challenges, put an end to it before there was blood shed. All in all, this was a refreshing change from some of the hipster spots back in VA.

It was fine but kinda bland. And it was dry. Needed some mustard in the worst way. The drinks were fine but the best thing about this place were the two gals who wanted to be at the Penguins game but were stuck watching it on TV. They got more and more worked up and more and more creative as they cursed every fan that won an autographed jersey. They were wishing calamity and destruction on the players, on the fans, even the city that the fans came from. By the end they would have beat up a boy scout or knocked over an old lady just to get one of those things. It was awesome. Thanks ladies. You saved the night.

The castle aesthetic carries over to the inside. It was definitely a choice lol but it is rather lovely. Not your usual dining experience. Try this place. Edit to add: a group of five of us stopped in for the brunch buffet on Sunday. We made a reservation as the website states any party of five or more should make one. I was apprehensive due to past experiences of brunch buffets. Usually all the food tastes very similar and lacks seasoning. Not the case here. They had such a wide array of options. We had an extremely picky eater and they left full. The vibe was casual with just a touch of sophistication. Really happy we tried the buffet and will absolutely come again.
