Super neat & wide view of the lake! Winter warning if it's cold where you are AWAY from the lake, it will feel like ICE hitting your body uncovered face when you actually get to the lake. There's walking paths, well paved and maintained, LOTS of benches in different locations, a really cool play area, and a little sand strip. The signs say no swimming, but there's usually someone in the water - there's no life guard, and you can sit on the big rocks or directly on the sand. Parking is a bit tricky. There are maybe 2 dozen spots in the park, and no street parking directly outside, so you may have to circle a few times or walk a few blocks in if it's busy. My dog loves it here. There's plenty to sniff, and she's usually guaranteed a dead fish or two to hunt for (Mom does not approve this activity).

The Coast Guard building is nearby. An ore ship passed us at the park going to a nearby business. The park is hidden, but signs are helpful.

There's a bathroom that only kind of smells. Close by is the lighthouse. It has a small museum. This area would seem to attract many tourists. It however doesn't seem that crowded. Most people are on the beach but but that many though. It seems cleaner than many beaches. The sand doesn't have a lot of cigarette butts and litter. It's kept clean pretty good. The water is kind of murky but it's apparently safe. Along with the beach is the park. There's some great views. It seems like a safe area. There's usually someone on patrol. It has a public bathroom. It doesn't reek of piss. They charge for parking but you can park for free on a side street.
