We found the vast majority of the residents there were friendly and helpful. The food varied - some days really good, other days not as much. But if you didn't like what they were serving, you could order off the "served every day" menu. Mom's 1 bedroom apt was clean, bright and very spacious. The washer/dryer in the actual apt was great! The apt cooled well and quickly with the A/C. Her room was very quiet. And we were able to get an apt not too far from the elevator. Once on the 1st floor, the elevator to the dining room, to the outside, and to the auditorium was very close. I was allowed to stay overnight when I needed to, no problem. I felt that what we received for the price was very reasonable compared to other places. The man at the front desk, Pete, was amazing. Ask him anything and he was very happy to help us, every time. When we had trouble with the thermostat once, it was fixed immediately. Light bulbs were replaced right away. Lint buildup in the dryer was cleaned out the same day we called about it. Everything worked. No place is perfect 100% of the time, but Mom and I felt this place tried their best to make it so. After 2 1/2 years in Independent Living, Mom needed to go to Assisted Living (AL). We stayed with Stratford Court and just transferred her over two buildings. Once there, she was happy to see one of her friends from IL was there as well. It's only been 1 week in AL, but so far we are finding the same quality of care. I hope this continues! And I hope this review helps.

He has been there about 6 months so far and we have been overjoyed at the service and community they provide! Everyone who works there is so friendly and really seem to enjoy what they do and that feeling permeates throughout the facility and into the residents. Everyone we encounter, anytime we visit, are always smiling and happy. My dad was depressed after my mom passed, and since moving there has become his old self again, smiling and joking. My sisters and I take comfort knowing he is being well fed and well looked after. But not only do they provide for his basic needs, they also provide for his social and emotional needs by offering all kinds of events. They do a walking club, which our dad uses his walker and joins. They offer outings and lunches. They recently did a "dream flight" for the veterans where they got to go to the Boca Airport and take a ride on an open air plane from the 1940's!! Then they did a ceremony for the Veterans for Veterans Day and each veteran was called up by name, given a pin, a certificate and a quilt donated by the group "Quilts of Valor"! It was beautiful and touching! I cannot say enough good things about how pleased we are with the Veranda Club. I highly recommend to anyone looking for either themselves or a parent. It was such a hard decision to move our father into a community, but has turned out to be the best decision we ever could have made.

I researched several places & admitted my Dad there in April 2016. He received AWESOME care by ALL staff. The Charge Nurse, Carol was EXCELLENT! Carol would stop in daily to see me & give me a full report about my Dad. Carol always took the time to meet with me & to make sure my Dad was getting the best care possible. My Dad's daily nurse, Kathy LPN did above & beyond her job to meet my Dad's needs. She was always so loving to my Dad. My Dad adored her & her dog (Kathy brought in her dog with her to work & my Dad was a huge dog lover so he always loved seeing Edison, Kathy's dog.) I can't tell you how many times I cried at the facility (just seeing my sweet Dad declining due to his polycystic disease) & how Carol, Kathy, CNA's, Cafe Staff, SW, ADON & all the staff would come & give me a hug & comfort me. They truly are the BEST! The CNA were remarkable with their AMAZING hands on service they loving gave my Dad each day. My Dad at times could be very agitated & the CNA"s always treated him with love & respect. Prior to my Dad coming to Willowbrooke he had been living on 3-4 Ensures plus a 1/2 bowl of soup per day, At Willowbrooke he LOVED the food & ate every meal. During each meal he sat with other residents & staff & was completely engaged. Catherine in activities was AWESOME & got my Dad to participate in all activities. I was at the facility at least once a day, normally 2 times per day to see my Dad....I never smelled any type of order, the place was always cleaned & ALL residents were very well taken care of. If there was ever a call light on any CNA passing by would stop in to assist the resident. Residents were up & out of there rooms & engaged with staff &/or activities. The Staff is truly AMAZING! I HIGHLY HGIHLY recommend Willowbrooke. My Dad has since gone to be with The Lord. I love Willowbrooke so much even though my Dad had already passed away I made sure to go up during the State Survey so I could give an EXCELLENT report to State & share how awesome, loving & amazing Willowbrooke Staff is. If any of my loved ones every need a nursing home, without a doubt I would pick Willowbrooke Court at St. Andrews! Thanks you for allowing me to share this review. Susie Dykema

As a professional caregiver who worked inside this facility accompanying a memory care resident, I…read morewant to share what families should know before placing a loved one here. This facility is expertly presented. The marketing is polished, the awards are visible, the tours are warm. What I witnessed working inside tells a different story. Staff yelled at residents, the people in their care. This was not an isolated incident. I also observed a resident being kept isolated in her room, apparently because staff did not want to manage her. When she told me she was hungry, I helped her into her wheelchair and brought her out myself. No one on staff had responded to her. On medication: I personally observed and reported improper medication administration to both the facility and to my agency. Families should ask specific, detailed questions about how medications are tracked and by whom. Here is what I think families most need to understand: the staff know when they are being watched. When families visit, the tone changes completely, the staff smiles and are exceptionally friendly. The moment they realize you are not a visitor, that you work there, that you live there, the warmth disappears. That gap between the performance and the reality is the most important thing I can tell you. At $3,600 to $6,895 a month, families deserve more than a facade. I share this not out of personal grievance, but because your loved one will be there when no one is visiting.

Artis Boca Raton is one of the best Memory Care Homes in the area, and I feel reassured and have some comfort, in knowing that my mother is in kind and competent hands. While I must stand by all I said in my earlier, fair review - which had favorable things to say about Artis Boca Raton - it is important to give an update as well. Caring for elder people with dementia is a vitally important and very difficult job. While I wish I could "see for myself" more often, I trust from what family members have told me, that my mother is safe, well cared for, and far more comfortable at Artis now. This means so much to family members, who by the cruel twist of fate cannot be there more often. My mother means the world to me, so I wished to thank Artis Boca Raton for taking such good care of her while I cannot.

The interiors were all redone and decorated beautifully. My only complaint is that the hallways dont have handrails. I understand that no facility is perfect, and some hiccups are to be expected, but a few issues made her stay more challenging than it needed to be. Unfortunately, her dentures were lost on the first night, which created a significant hardship. Without teeth, she was unable to eat most meals, and the puréed food provided was thick and honestly unappetizing. I ended up bringing her soup each evening so she could eat comfortably. What stood out most was the clear difference between what felt like an "A team" and a "B team." When V, Jennifer, and Mark were on duty, my mother was well cared for--knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. Other staff members seemed less experienced and less warm. The facility is clearly understaffed; while some aides were wonderful, others were not particularly kind. Cora was an absolute doll, but she had far too many patients and not enough support. Teri, the concierge, was truly five-star. Any issue we raised was addressed promptly and professionally. The rehab team--both PT and OT--were amazing and are the primary reason we chose this facility in the first place. They exceeded expectations. Areas for improvement include staffing levels, consistency of care, cleanliness, and food quality, which was mediocre overall. With more support and better oversight, this facility has the potential to be much better, especially given how strong some members of the team truly are.

Her oxygen is not in her nose. She's out of it and not speaking, crusted stuff on her eye and it's swollen. She's in a soiled diaper. This is absolutely unacceptable.
