I found their prices to be much more competitive than grocery stores or local liquor stores. They offer 10% discounts on quantity wine purchases and have occasional flash sales providing a 15% discount. They offer classes and wine tastings here, and have a good rewards program which earns $5 credits among other perks. They have a large humidor and offer many non-alcoholic gift items. Returns have been easy on the rare occasions needed, and on two occasions when my delivery order was incorrect, the Total Wine customer service team immediately credited me for the incorrect items. Their delivery has always been on time, within the one-hour window provided. Their text updates make it easy to track the delivery.

Service has gone from excellent and some times above & beyond to abysmal. They are removing interesting hard to find items with huge stacks of generic ales. They were previously well known for their craft beers and large variety of different stouts, porters and Scotch ales. Not to mention the wine & spirits selection was amazing. I don't make it to this area very often, so I was most looking forward to see if they carried anything that's either hard to find or just totally unavailable in my home area of New Haven, Connecticut. I spent maybe a half hour just walking down the aisles and seeing what all of the options were. Afterwards, I was ready to begin shopping. I ended up purchasing a pretty sizable haul which should keep my refrigerator full for a while. Not having been familiar with the area I didn't know what to expect. The store is rather large they had about nine tables set up for their whiskey tastings each with maybe 3 or so "samples" each available to be tried of the various vendors. The benefits also gave away so much free stuff, that was ace. They did a very good job of ensuring there was water, cheese, and fruit to snack on so people weren't falling all over each other and the vibe was very friendly. The event was run very smoothly and I really hope to go to another one again. As for the store itself, it was a lot larger than I thought it would be. I did notice some beers not having prices. I don't know if it was due to the hustle and bustle of the event and they'd fallen off but if you're the type to buy craft beer I don't think you have an issue with asking for a price anyways common.
