Also, the place seems to have a lot of bass in the 1# to 1.5# range. They can be fun to catch, but it would be nice to get some larger ones once in a while. Never caught a trout here, or seen one follow my lure, for that matter. On the positive side, the launch is great, your boat will come off easy. $6 to launch and another $6 to park. Lake is never crowded with boat traffic, no water skiers or jet skiers, which is also good. Very scenic too, just wish the fishing was better, because I only live 4 miles from here. FYI, alcohol is not allowed, they will search your cooler. Gate opens at 8am on weekends, 10am on weekdays (which I find a tad late being a fisherman, but it is what it is).

There is a splash pad that is currently being constructed in Mills Pond Park. They have pools and a playground in that small park. There is a fee to enroll in the activities and programs; check their website for details. Every summer they have a free summer concert series. The department is located in the Community Center, which also houses the library and senior center. The building is pretty big and hosts many events and meetings. The parking lot is a decent size.

I did not deduct stars for this but would like to give fair warning that the snack bar this summer was VERY slow, understaffed, and prone to errors the times that we used it. I hope it improved throughout the season but we haven't utilized it since midway through the summer. We'll try again next year!

I joined a…read morekickball league and went last night for my first game, and was surprised, excited, and shocked all at the same time. This park is massive, and there are amazing views of the city of Hartford. There is plenty of on-street parking, several fields for games, and just wide, open spaces. I'm looking forward to coming here weekly for my games, and also just to explore, have a picnic, or just to play!

Here isn't seating at the courts, but parents make do with the stage. There are restrooms down the hall, if you happen to be looking. I'm not exactly sure if the building is unlocked most of the time or not. But after you're done with basketball, you can take the kids over to the playground or swimming at the pool ( in the summer that is).

There's a trail that takes you down to a pretty pond, waterfall, and wetlands. There's a recreational bonanza of options, with an Olympic sized pool, tennis courts, two baseball fields, basketball courts, a football field, a park, a softball field, a skate park, two pavilions, a soccer field, wading pool, and playgrounds. Did Mr. gray hoodie clean up after Fido? Nope, he just ignored that steaming pile of dog doo, leashed up his dog when it finally sprinted over, and calmly walked away along East Hill Road. The selfish, careless, inconsiderate arrogance was incredible to witness. So, if you're playing out there on the fields, watch where you step.

There is a pavilion with a few picnic tables; you can contact Canton recreation to reserve them for a party. The parking lot has plenty of spaces. There's no trail, just a small paved portion behind the skatepark. I saw plenty of people walking around the park and around the field. My kids really enjoyed playing in the playground. There's a double swing you can put your small child in and you can sit on the swing as well; that was a first for me. A gem and I'm lucky to live close by and be able to use this establishment.

The venue is well run, clean, and has meeting spaces for public events. On this occasion, the center was also providing a complimentary sandwich lunch for all attendees. How lovely. On this occasion, Town Supervisor, Rebecca Edwards and her team with the support of the Senior Center team hosted another informative community resident discussion. I'm impressed by this Town administration's ideas to improve the lives of the residents. My town taxes are a good value under this leadership.
