We had a great time at Equus Mountain Meadow Riding Stables, just remember to ask for the new…read moreaddress (same street, just a little down the road). I rode Tripoli, he was super friendly and wanted scratches and snuggles after the ride. My mom rode Rocket, he was slow and stable (good for her). This is very informal, and you can tell that these horses do not have to do the same thing over and over. Very customizable, and you will be the only group riding. Very Nice!

This was one of the most amazing and memorable trail rides I ever had. I was so sad to see them…read moregone from the Tampa Bay location. But when they moved to Georgia, I was so elated that I had to go and do another trail ride with them. The drive to Clayton was quite scenic, with lush greens and beautiful mountains to look at. It is about a 2 hour drive from Atlanta, but definitely worth it! Their new barn is in a residential area, with some beautiful trails heading to the mountains. The ride to the mountains was so peaceful and relaxing, and ability to trot and canter the horses was amazing, giving some added thrill to the ride. I was so happy to ride Tripoli again, who is a very beautiful and sweet white Arabian gelding. He was responsive to my commands, and was quite forgiving when making a mistake. While Tripoli's trots are a little bouncy (though, can be posted pretty easily), his canters are as smooth as a rocking horse. Ken is such a friendly and amazing guide. He really helps you learn how to control the horses correctly and helps the timid riders gain their confidence on the horses. While he makes safety of the horses and riders his highest priority, as long as the horses are up for it, and he find it safe to do so, he lets you trot and canter almost anytime you want (the only time when he suggested against it was going downhill for obvious reasons ;) ). The horses here very sweet, friendly, and well taken care of. They get fed twice per day, and get plenty of breaks during and in between the rides. They all love having treats, so be sure to bring carrots and peppermints. They will treat you even extra nice if you bring those. :) The cost of the ride is $50 for a 1.5 hour ride if only a single person is riding, or $40 per person if 2 - 4 people are riding. The ride is indeed private, with no other strangers riding with you. It is worth every penny and I can't wait to go back to Georgia and ride with them again soon!

It's clear that everyone working here is passionate about what they do and that is reflected on the positive experiences they provide their visitors. There was a child in my trail ride group and the guide was kind and gentle with him, making sure he felt comfortable the whole time. At the end, he even got a surprise - I think it was a gem from the local mine. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!!! Our groups entire ride was not ideal from start to finish. Our guide, Kayla,…read morewas an hour and a half late to our ride while appearing disheveled and unenthusiastic about taking us out to ride. The process getting assigned to/ put on the horses was extremely difficult, time consuming, and after seeing how these horses were cared for (no food, matted, reckless behavior, etc.) and all had their own flaw, we were uneasy to even start our ride. Horrible first impressions all around. I was put on a horse named Mingo who has an issue rubbing his neck on several of trees. I was rammed into 4 trees along our ride and left with bruises/knots on my knee and leg. The most Kayla could do was warn me that one of his favorite trees was coming up on the left and to attempt to steer his head away. Next, my friends horse, Kiwi's, reins completely broke resulting in our guide to leave her mule unattended and let another friend of ours (wildly unprofessional) to lead the entire group while she walked far behind with our other friend and horse. The main event ended with our friend's horse taking off chasing after her unattended mule. Her horse took off full speed and eventually threw her off turning a sharp corner. To note, we were never offered helmets, despite the center later claiming that they had. We are very grateful her injuries were not worse than they could have been. This is just to name a few complaints of our overall experience. I would NOT recommend for anyone, especially children. The center also refused any refund or anything to make this right.
