If the rooms are upstairs the journey can be a bit steep. However, they have a chair seat for those who can't make the climb. The host were Sinéad, and Shane. Along with two adorably polite young men Cathel and Ruairi. An older child Emma was away at university. Sinéad greeted us at the door with a warm welcome. Any and all questions were answered. We were absolutely delighted with our room. They were happy to direct us to local areas. There is a booklet in the room with plenty of information. Breakfast the next day was a treat. Shane is a head chef at a local restaurant and we were fortunate enough to have the experience of his delicious breakfast. They source local products. The eggs are from a house a few doors down. Meat is a local butcher, etc. Others staying in the B&B were delightful and we were able to share tips. However, Shane and Sinéad were amazing with their information on the area. Stayed here for a couple of days during the summer 2011. It is a very big site with some nice…read morewalks. The toilet block was very clean and the site was kept very well. The only thing i did not like about the site it is in a forest and where the caravans are you can not get the sun because of the trees but i did notice there is a big open field for tents down the back were there is plenty of sun. The person in reception when we arrived made us feel very welcome and i would pay the site a visit again and out of the few sites we were at they were the only ones who gave the reduction in price for the new vat rate for tourists.

This is probably the cleanest and tidiest place I've EVER stayed whilst traveling! Great access to the city centre... maybe a two minute walk down the road? Beautiful grounds and a restaurant on site. Ennis is a lovely little place to visit. This place is almost too nice to be considered a hostel.... it was honestly so lovely! Give this place a visit and make sure to visit Ennis! Great for live music.

I really don't understand why this hostel has received such great reviews. When traveling, a few…read morethings are very important; good WiFi and clean washrooms. This hostel had neither. WiFi is only available in the kitchen and lobby. As soon as you go into another area of the hostel, the WiFi cuts off. I even tried going to the living room next to the lobby, and I lost the WiFi connection. Washrooms were plain weird. You had one huge washroom in a room for 8 people, and there were no curtains or anything to keep the water from leaving the shower area. So basically, after you showered you were walking around on a wet floor trying not to fall. Also, you have to bring your own towel or pay to use one. Breakfast was average. You got toast, a couple of fruit options, jam, butter, 2 choices of cereal and coffee/tea.

I have not stayed here, so my review is not about the actual rooms. However, as an organiser of…read moreevents, I've had to book guests in. In my latest booking, the hotel would not give me a receipt or invoice prior to the guest checking in. I needed this invoice in advance for our grant funding. Then, when I called the hotel and requested to be transferred to the guest's room, they told me that they, "don't do that." So I left a message with the front desk to give to the guest, and they asked me which room, which I could not possibly know without talking to the guest! At least they had the courtesy to call me back to let me know they couldn't reach the guest. If this weren't the cheapest reasonable facilities near the University of Limerick, I wouldn't be using them again. Unfortunately, grant funding doesn't give you the option of choosing more expensive places simply for better service.

This little hotel is located in the Galtee mountains and is apparently a good place walking clubs…read morealthough i didn't get to do that much walking. The hotel have very nice staff that were very patient with our noisy children but unfortunately for us there was little or nothing for the children to do, there is no pool, no entertainment during the week and the children can't really play outside as the front of the hotel is a road running from one part of the mountain to the other. But for those that come for a night or two without children it seems quite relaxing to get away from the big cities and Tipperary town is only 10 minutes away. As for food we only ate breakfast there which i found quite basic but again the staff were always so helpful and smiling and happy to get me and my sister our poached eggs. All in all a nice little hotel and it is also in prime position to explore the mountains which we did and in fact we got to see the birthplace of one of the rivers that feed into Tipperary.

We looked around the area for other places but everyone was completely booked. Thankfully we found Briar lodge! So lucky!! Tricia was super accommodating, the house was beautiful and the room was very cozy and had its own bathroom. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic and was much needed for a flight back to the states.When we come back we will definitely check here.
