Delicious breakfast and lunch tacos. The breakfast until 1130. All well priced at $2. The lunch tacos are nicely filled. My favorite so far is the carne guisada. The picadillo is under $3 and delicious! It could use more potatoes, but it's still super tasty. The bistec ranchero is very good and also pretty loaded. It's spicy, but not over the top if you like heat. It's a wet one just like the carne guisada so don't let them get too soggy on you if you're taking them to go. I actually managed to eat my carne guisada without any spillage and that's saying something! That's probably the only lunch taco that isn't really loaded, but it's necessary because otherwise the gravy would leak out. They charge a fee if you don't use cash. The sign on the window says they charge 4% if you use credit or debit. The law says they can only charge it on credit cards not debit though. I paid cash this last trip, but will notify management about that fee error. read more

Rice and beans as sides are not the best, yes I will give the bad reviews that. The tacos are slightly overpriced but what isn't these days with the economy and inflation? I'll still be coming back regularly. So far we had the chicharron guisada + carne guisada + potato egg and cheese + bean bacon cheese + asada Gordita and chicken taco plate. The tacos are great. The flour tortillas are always a tiny bit burnt and are thinner and crispier than my liking. I do enjoy thick soft tortillas but this place will do just fine. The meat is always tasty and on point. Wouldn't do a plate again bc the beans and rice were pretty bland. They are better in a meat taco that can aid it with some of the meat juices as seasoning. They do always give you salt packets too which can help. Overall, pretty decent and tasty. We'll keep coming back. Can't say much on customer service because we only use drive thru. There's been times we had a wait a very small amount of time. It's never been so long that we noticed. Food is still hot by the time we get home too. read more

Eddie's used to be a solid and consistent taco place in the McAllen, PSJA, Edinburg area. But in the last 10 months or more the quality has severely slipped. The tortillas no longer taste fresh and homemade. Probably using frozen masa. The eggs are never seasoned. The potato's come out with a weird slick covering of an unknown oil. Probably soy bean oil. Their beans taste like garbage. The bacon is definitely reused from one day to the next. The salsas are now prepackaged and have no flavor. The chorizo used is such low quality and extremely greasy that you can't order anything with it in it. If you are a breakfast taco place and not making your own chorizo or using chorizo San Manuel then don't put it on the menu. The barbacoa is ok and so is the carne guisada. But for all other breakfast tacos you are better off going somewhere else. Sad to see Eddie's lose their quality as they expand. read more

"Best tacos in the RGV", I don't think so. The carne guisada gravy was bland and overall below par. They charge you one dollar for a sprinkle of cheese per taco. The fajita tacos were average. The barbacoa taco was just alright. The chicharron entero was about the only taco out of a variety of 6 that was decent. There was not much else to say about the bean, chorizo and egg tacos. Overall, there was nothing that absolutely stood out about these tacos. The items seemed a little overpriced for what we got. 13 tacos for $45.70. Eddie's in Edinburg is a great addition to our community. The food has been very good so far and still working through the menu to try all their food. Only thing I would like to see is the aguas frescas that is currently not available, hope they add it. The drive thru service has been pretty fast and great people at the window. read more

I gave Eddie's a 4 star rating. I ordered two bacon and egg tacos to dine in. The bill came back with a surcharge of 15 cents. I paid with my credit card. There wasn't any sign on the register about a surcharge. I had cash to pay if the credit card caused the surcharged. I dislike surcharges and this is a classic "nickel and dime" surcharge. The pros: I don't think I have ever said this about a taco, but their chicharron and egg taco is actually crave-worthy. I am literally thinking about it now and my mouth is watering! I don't know why but it's sooooo good and topped with salsa verde and cheese, I need some in my tummy! They actually sell the chicharron by the pound so you know it must be good. The cons! This location is bigger and better parking compared to the Pecan/495 location BUT it gets even more packed. The drive thru line gets super long. The parking is very weird as location is housed in an old Aziz gas station. If you park in or drive thru you will end up waiting a bit especially with the morning rush crowd. But that just goes to show you just how delicious these tacos are. I have yet to try the lunch but hope to eventually see if it can give me happy feet! Visiting Edinburg area, and we stopped here for breakfast before making a 4 hour drive back home. I was very happy with my eggs over medium, beans, chopped potatoes, and salsa. The tortillas were soft and fluffy, and my wife's tacos were very good according to her. My 3 sons are all athletes and all said they were stuffed. The place was also very clean and ambiance was super chill and authentic. I don't think I'll be back in Edinburg anytime soon, but if I do, I know where I'll be going back to. Ordered 4 Tacos at the Drive-Thru: 2 for me of over easy eggs with chorizo and beans, they tasted good and authentic. For my girlfriend one of chorizo and potatoes, and one of papa a la Mexicana (potatoes with Chile,tomato and onions) all on flour tortillas. They made sure to give us some good green salsa. But me and my girlfriend both feel sick from our stomach after. I'm guessing since we both had chorizo that looked undercooked. Well,I came in yesterday for lunch plates right before closing. To start the attendant at the drive thru was NOT FRIENDLY at all. I had an enchilada fajita plate and a fajita plate. About $16 for both. The fajita in my enchiladas was pretty tough made it hard to cut. It was a good size plate my sons fajita plate was decent at its best. For that price I rather go sit at my local cafe and enjoy my plate and get some good service. Maybe it was an off day? I totally believe in second chances so I'll be back.
