He provided the quotes and I thought they were a little high, $220 more just to add her, so I decided against it. Well apparently there was some miscommunication because she was added anyways. I thought this was just a minor mix up and that I would call and get it fixed. Well I called and he refused to refund my money! I told him it was a mistake and he basically told me that it doesn't matter. So I filed a formal complaint. Of course the corporate office did nothing to help me and basically told me the same thing. So I will be calling anyone and everyone I can to get this fixed. Even if there was a "miscommunication", she never lived with me and they never asked me if she did! So she shouldn't of been added anyway. You would think that they would just return the $220 to make the mistake right but no. I would not recommend going with Brian McPherson or Shelter Insurance.

The biggest was a nightmare: severe roof damage that led to a leak and widespread damage throughout our home. What followed was over nine months of exhausting back-and-forth with corporate representatives. In the end, despite our loyalty and persistence, State Farm cancelled our policy and left us hanging. Just when it felt like everything was stacked against us, our local agent, Zack Nashert, stepped in--and completely changed the story. Zack treated us like human beings, not a case number. He listened. He cared. He took ownership of the situation in a way corporate never did. He went above and beyond at every turn, even working on Christmas Eve, reassuring us that he would do absolutely everything in his power to keep us insured after all these years. And somehow--against the odds--he pulled off what can only be described as a Christmas miracle. We're insured, we're secure, and we don't have to start the new year scrambling. Thank you, Zack, for saving the day, for genuinely caring, and for treating us like PEOPLE. If you want an agent who actually shows up when it matters, Zack, Cindy, and the rest of the crew here are the real deal.

The experience we had with Brittany James was excellent. She was professional, thorough, understanding, and asked enough questions to know what we really needed. She was also patient in describing the various options available. I cannot recommend Brittany James enough and we are very happy to be in a relationship with this company.

"This email is to inform you that there have been events leading up to the dissatisfaction in your services and we are seeking a refund of $157.40 initially paid November 21, 2024 to set up homeowners insurance on our new property we are renovating in the country, in Hinton, OK. Chris instructed us to take pictures and upload them to the website with the explanation that we were currently renovating the property. Approximately 2-3 weeks later, we received a letter stating that we did not qualify for a policy and were given a lengthy list of reasons why which reflected the fact that the explanation attached to the photos was completely ignored citing the things noted in the explanation as causes for disqualification along with noting trees that needed removal. The property is out in the country, in Hinton, OK. It's in the woods surrounding Cedar Lake. We have removed some trees but we are not removing all the trees. The denial letter also highlighted piles of debris on the premises, which were the result of our work in renovations. Then, 2 more weeks later, we received a bill for the homeowners insurance that we were denied stating we owed $77.32 for the premium earned less any deposit premium paid while the policy was in force from November 21, 2024 to January 3, 2025. That is null and void because we never received any communication describing the terms of the policy, which was never issued due to disqualification. I called to speak with Chris regarding the situation last Tuesday, January 7, 2025 and Christina answered and said he wasn't available so she took a message to have him call me back. He never called me back. I called your office today to speak with you and Hannah told me that you were out of the office. She asked about the situation and I gave her all the details. She stated that she didn't see any bill due. In pressing her further for a resolution, she stated she would call billing to discuss the bill we received and she would get back with me "later". I told her I needed a resolution sooner than later and gave her a 30-minute deadline to get back to me. When she contacted me again, approximately 30 minutes later, she said that the billing department said that we owed the $77.32 when Hannah initially told me that she didn't see any bill due, and that it was for the policy, which your company denied us coverage for. I told her that it was not acceptable and we would be seeking a refund because we did not get services rendered for the fee we paid and certainly weren't getting good customer service to resolve the problem. I asked Hannah when you would be returning to the office and she responded she didn't know when you would be returning to the office. I asked Hannah to give me your direct email and she hesitated to give it to me. I had to request your email 5 times before she finally gave it to me. We want an immediate refund since our policy is not in effect with your company. Please return payment on the card the initial payment was made. We will be seeking coverage for our homeowners needs elsewhere." We will also be taking our needs to auto insurance elsewhere. Please note that it states I am in San Francisco, CA, but I currently live in OKC, OK as I moved here last Summer 2024. The email I sent to Terry, given by his receptionist, Hannah, was incorrect and the email returned undeliverable. *EDIT AFTER BECKY C. RESPONDED TO REVIEW ON YELP. This is a copy of what I sent "Becky C" in a message after receiving the response above on both Google and Yelp. "We did not have a standing contract as we did not receive any explanation of coverage (what would be covered or excluded) and nothing was signed. It was all verbal and Chris assured me that posting pictures with an explanation of renovations being done wouldn't be a problem. But that is beside the point that when I asked to speak with Terry directly, Hannah avoided giving me his email address and after asking 5 times, she reluctantly gave me an email address which wasn't good as it bounced back as "undeliverable". This is deceptive business practice." I have yet to directly communicate with Terry Cavnar.

I switched to Allstate 6 months ago because their rate for homeowner's insurance was slightly lower…read morethan I was paying on my current policy. The auto insurance was a little higher but reasonable. Right after this I got a message saying my homeowners was going to be cancelled because there was some limbs touching my roof unless I got them trimmed (which I did); but before I could even take care of this (due to bad weather) they cancelled my home insurance and raised the rate on my auto policy. It took many phone calls to get this straightened out and I still got charged a higher rate on my auto for 2 months. Now, a few days ago, I received my 6 month renewal on my auto liability insurance and it increased by $120.00 per year. I would have understood a slight increase but this was a lot considering I have had no tickets, accidents or claims and drive very little (less than 100 miles per month). When I called to get an explanation for this I was told it was a state wide increase and that they would email me a list of things I could do to save a little. That has been 3 days ago and so far I have heard nothing from them (which doesn't surprise me considering how long it took them to get the first problem straightened out). So, all this being said, BUYER BEWARE! The rate they quote you will probably not be the rate you'll be paying when its time to renew. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me with Allstate, the first being several years ago. Seems like this is a common practice for them.

This was after 0 communication or attempt to call me before adding the unwanted coverage. Representative's response when I told her this would cost her business "that's okay with me" 0/10
