After 3 days of trying to work with service and getting aggressive negative results I went to Lake Hartwell Ford, Royston Lake Hartwell Ford solved my software problem in 10 mins at no charge. Night and day compared to Ed Murdock. 110% customer service, polite, listened understood the issue with service mobility kit reset procedure. All the service manager at Ed Murdock wanted to do was argue and try and charge me $300. In 50 years of owning cars Ed Murdock is the worst experience. My husband noticed that the splash guard under my car was almost hitting the ground. He thought we should drop it off at the dealership right away. The next morning he went with me to drive me home. When I told them that we didn't have an appointment and about the problem, he said they could get it done right away. My husband left as I waited for them to finish. DO NOT BUY a vehicle here if you expect customer service. We took our vehicle in yesterday at 9AM (a scheduled appointment). We had to wait 13 days to even get the appointment. So we drop it off and hear nothing all day. My husband called before they closed yesterday and was told they were still diagnosing the problem. That was a lie because today at 4pm they still had not even touched it. We went to pick it up and the service manager just handed us the keys. No apology, no explanation...nothing. I called to speak to a manager and was told he couldn't speak to me if I was yelling (which I wasn't). I should have been given their HORRIBLE customer service. I did after he said that though. This dealership is ridiculous and their service department is worthless. Never again. So we have a 73,000 vehicle that has mechanical issues and have to find a dealership other than where we purchased it to get it fixed. What a joke. Beware, the owners and staff of this place are a joke, Daniel is a good liar and will be buddy buddys with you on the phone and tell you what you want to hear, then after he does a hard pull on your credit and says he will call you back the next day, he transfers you to his brother Johnny, who will also do a hard pull, got my credit score dropped over 8 points from these clowns and they never even followed up and proceeded to ignore my calls, then when their employee answered the phone i asked for either of them, he said "yea hold on" then they told him to tell me they weren't there so he did, and that was that, so save yourself some time and don't risk hurting your credit more than it should be if you are thinking of purchasing a vehicle through them and just do business elsewhere, literally anywhere but here. read more

A co-worker of mine pointed me to this place and even though it's almost to South Carolina, I figured it was worth a shot. I spoke with Brian several times before we made the trip up there. I told him what I was looking for and my price range. I also told him what rate my credit union had offered to give me for the loan. Not only did he find the exact car I wanted (2008 Ford Escape), he got me an even better rate to finance it and never once pushed something on me that I didn't want. We got the Carfax report, their maintainence report, the whole nine yards. I drove off with my dream car on the first try. My parents both own Fords and they're seriously considering taking their cars all the way up there for servicing. It was really that good. My husband called 2 weeks ago to make an appointment to bring his truck in for numerous recalls and the check engine light. He was told to bring it in on Monday morning - he had it there as soon as they opened. He called on Tuesday afternoon about picking it up and was told they had not touched it but would do so first thing Wednesday. I called late Wednesday and was told they hadn't touched it but would run diagnostic on it Thursday and he really couldn't say when they would actually work on it. Joshua "bragged" that he had trucks sitting there for 4 weeks that hadn't been touched. I explained that this is his work truck and he needed it to use not just sit on their lot. I politely told him that this was some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. AVOID their service department. We have obviously bought our last (expensive) vehicle there if this is the level of service to be expected. read more

Ed murdocks lies and the vehicles are usually crappy. The service is awful and we will never get a car there ever again.

Their follow- through before and during the sale was great but after delivery was less. It took the entire family to pull it off. Several dealers did not want to mess with me because I held out for what I wanted. The Murdocks wanted my business and I got the truck I needed. I might buy here again. I wouldn't discourage someone but make them give you the price before you go! I amended this review to give them another star. I am Ed Williams and my wife is Tracy. We traded for a 2009 Dodge Journey at Ed Murdock's about a year ago. In about 6 months it pitched a fit and wouldn't start. I put my battery charger on it and let it charge for a while and it started right up. Well, same scenario here in the last few days. I am about ready to tag this car as a real lemon. I took our car to have front end repaired to their body shop. 1st trip to pick up car resulted in leaving the car due to bad workmanship. The new parts were scuffed up, fog lights not put in correctly, and plastic tags left on molded parts. Fog lights were not scratched when we took it to the body shop...... now they are and they will not fix their problem. My advice is to spend 10 more minutes going to Mike Jones Ford in Toccoa. read more

I found myself stranded with t minus 6 hours till my sister's wedding with a blown front tire and little hope of getting things fixed in time to make it down the aisle. Kim at Murdock absolutely saved the day! She went far beyond her role as Service Advisor- she was a truly an angel. She not only understood the urgency of the situation, but when further car problems came to light when the techs were working on my car she took the time to come out and explain the new issues point by point. She reviewed the updated costs and provided an excellent explanation of each of the problems and rationale for each of the corresponding repairs. I readily agreed to approx 2k in repairs due to her great work and service. Kim assisted in arranging for a prompt rental car and even ensured my vehicle would be worked on over the weekend so that I could make it to work Monday. Murdock's customer service is unparalleled and genuinely all thanks to Kim. I would absolutely recommend this place solely based on Kim's exemplary. service, expertise, professionalism.
