I absolutely recommend them. They did a great job on a variety of trees, were very professional and courteous and cleaned everything up. I had a very large overgrown pepper tree and they trimmed it beautifully. I also had a shapeless pear tree and another almost dead tree. They did a great job with all of them. Bart, their arborist, was very knowledgeable and also listened to my requests and concerns.

There were a few weighty branches which became a bit of a worry, as they were hanging high above one corner of my home. When I finally decided to do something about these branches I had three main concerns: 1) I didn't want to pay more than I should have to pay to have the work done, 2) I wanted someone who knew how to safely get up into that giant tree and do the work and 3) I wanted only what was needed to be removed should be removed. I called several Yelp-recommended tree care companies. I have never liked Beaver Tree or Action Tree so those were out of the question. One company gave me a ridiculously high estimate, after I sent a photo of the tree. Not only did Ronnie Gosnell return my call in a timely manner, he came right out that day and took a look at the job. He endeared himself to me forever when his first words were, "You know that tree is never going to fall over onto your house, right?" It is always heartwarming to have one's convictions corroborated by an expert. Plus, then I knew I wasn't dealing with someone who wanted to "take" me, by trying to talk me into either removing the tree or trying to talk me into having too many branches removed. We discussed the shape of the tree and talked about taking off what was necessary to keep as much greenery as possible. A fair price was agreed upon; 1/2 what the one company had asked. The crew came out within a few days, the job was done efficiently and painlessly. At my request, the men loaded the wood chips onto a tarp in my yard, so that I could use my Lemon gum's chips as mulch. This made me very happy. If you want the job done right, if you want someone who really knows trees and you want someone who cares about trees, have Montecito Tree Care do the job. You'll be glad you did.

Ronnie gave us advice on various options, but also made a point of understanding our desires and needs. He respected our opinions on specific limbs we hoped to keep, and provided experienced advice as an arborist regarding how to preserve a healthy attractive canopy, with best future prospects for growing into a nice, natural shape. We were never concerned that limbs would be indiscriminately hacked off against our wishes. The crew were absolute magicians. They worked together quickly and efficiently. The tree was in an extremely awkward space behind the house, but they managed to rope everything out without a hint of damage, and cleaned up thoroughly.

Both trees showed some signs of pests like mites and aphids, as well. I sent photos of them to TLC Tree Care and asked for advice. Gene said he was available and he and his crew came over the same day I called (!). He examined the trees, described what he'd like to do, and went to work at once (!!!). Next, he prescribed a little medicine and food for them and administered it via a most interesting deep watering technique. The job, including cleanup, was done in under 3 hours, and the price was most reasonable. Gene himself is a remarkable person, very thoughtful, with many years of teaching tree care under his belt. The bottom line? Both of our trees look good, and are so healthy now that, in gratitude, they have produced more fruit than we have seen in years!

He didn't ask any further questions said he didn't do "that kind of work" and "I'm in the business to save trees" turning rude and impatient on me. So odd. I'm not upset that he didn't want to cut the trees down, I'm upset with the rudeness - I guess being respectful to women is not a strong suit. But I luckily I found another company that can top all 35 of my eucalyptus trees and cut the Italian spruces down before they become more of a problem.
