Their lobby and what I assume they consider a continental breakfast.

This place is an absolute dumpster fire! The pictures in the description when booking on hotels.com is clearly of a completely different property. We checked in and left briefly to call around to find another place to stay. Came back and popped in the room to see if it was as bad as we expected. I turned in my keys and left. After trying to reach a manger multiple times for two days I contacted hotels.com. They were hung up on three times when trying to resolve the issue. I would be willing to bet traverse city's next big meth bust is coming straight out of this hell hole

Nothing. Empty breakfast bar. 2 days in a row

TV not paired with TV remote. No closed caption. I'm deaf. No hot tub. No continental breakfast unless you want dry cereal with coffee creamer. No muffins no breakfast bars. No orange juice in 2 days. Nothing! It's 8am! This goes until 10am lol. Safe in room does not work. It was upside down and appears to have something in it. Towel rack in bathroom broke. Hot tub broke. Washing machine out of order. No vending machines for snacks just pop. Also out order. So looks like we head out for food.

This was in bathroom room 106. Doorstopper. Crispy.

We booked the hotel for many of our soccer families during a tournament weekend. We are used to staying in nice places but this one apparently was on the list and shouldn't have been an option for us. This one should be called a motel due to age and upkeep. Doors didn't lock to building. There was a wild dog (or badger) that hung out near the back door of the place. Building is outdated. Pool is very small. The rubber door stopper in our room was burnt up and remained on wall. Another family had an old lemon and cup in their fridge. We did get our money back (159.00 Per night) for the second nights stay and went to the Courtyard Marriott!! It was only 40.00 more for luxury!

Bed bugs, mold, water damage! Gal at desk was helpful, the man...not so much. They didn't seem very worried about the bed bug infestation.

No worries, she had a walker, so a disaster was averted. I did let the front desk know, and they were aware of it, and stated that the location is due for updating soon, and that will be fixed. Checking into her room, Rm 214, it was massive, and I was very impressed by all the handrails in the bathroom. There were some negatives of the room though, there were only light switches right by the door when you walked it, and then only on the lamps throughout the room. My mother got up in the middle of the night and couldn't find a way to turn on any lights and had to call down to the front desk. The other negative was that the door of the bathroom, which is immediately to the right of the room door, when opened prevented you from entering the room. My mother has balance issues and called me to come in the room to help her out of the tub, and because she left the bathroom door open, I could not access the room. Her friend was sleeping but could come let me in after she heard me knocking. The next negative is the lack of wastebin liners. I spoke to the front desk and they told me it was company policy in an attempt to be 'greener'. Although I love this sentiment, I hated the smell of my food garbage permeating my room, and ended up walking it down to the lined trash bin next to the ice machine. Myself, and several other patrons staying at your facility, found ourselves requesting laundry bags so we could line our trash bins ourselves. I know they can be pricey, but may I suggest keeping biodegradable trash Bags on hand for those customers who request liners for their bins, rather than putting them in every room at every turnover? That is the end of my negative feedback, I rarely, if ever, enter public pools or spas, and annoyingly enough for my travel companions, I travel with a pool testing kit in my car because of my job. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the pool & spa, and they tested spot on, so I gave my blessing to the members of our party to go ahead and enjoy. I was upset that the first, and only time, we ate at the in-house restaurant/bistro, was after checking out. We had the most fabulous breakfast! Lastly, and most importantly, I would like to sing the praises of the staff at this location. They were always friendly, professional, and very helpful. My mother lost a nut from her walker, which was preventing her from using it. I brought the walker to the front desk hoping they might have a maintenance room where a spare nut could be located. I then had 6 people on the case. Jack, Josh, Laura, Alexandria, Pete and Rin. I was so astounded and appreciative that so many people were on the case. A nut was found, but didn't fit right, and wouldn't stay in place, so Pete & Josh went looking more thoroughly and found something that would fit AND stay in place. They fixed my mother's walker, which she is pretty much lost without. This level of service AMAZED me.

I just returned from a…read moreweekend stay and thought the overall property was well maintained, lobby was clean, room and hallways were clean. I have no complaints. If you are looking for a decent place where you will be comfortable, is close to local attractions, but not needing a lot of frills, this should meet your need. I think however this hotel benefits from not having much competition in the area for a modern hotel with luxury amenities. On the positive side, the best aspects are that the location is in walking distance to everywhere you would want to go for downtown bars and restaurants and the waterfront view is spectacular. The valet and desk staff were also friendly and helpful. The view at the rooftop restaurant / bar is awesome. On the downside, there is a high level of noise from the street and from nearby rooms. The walls are thin, and I could hear people next door talking and in the hallway. Also, the sheets on the bed are thin like paper towel and I was cold and had to wear a sweatshirt to bed to be warm. The bed itself is hard, not firm, but hard. I do not know what the bed is made of, but it seemed like plywood. Bed was uncomfortable, so at the end of a long day I did not get the relaxation of a good night sleep. Also, the bath products were small in proportion. Hand soap was a like a sliver of what you would throw away when you get to the end of a full bar. I would highly recommend making sure you bring your own shampoo, soap, body lotion and whatever bath products you like because you won't have them at this hotel. One other aspect that was an annoyance and not a huge deal was the television. You don't need a lot of television on vacation but it was exceptionally slow to change channels and was making it difficult to watch any television, so I mostly just watched one channel. If you will not be spending a lot of time at the hotel, but looking for a convenient and clean place that is friendly and in walking distance to bars, restaurants and attractions I think you would find this a good choice.

Then I left a message with the hotel manager. This prompted Lisa to finally call me back. She explained the room and dining options and said she'd send me details. Those never came. Breakfast besides that was incredible with what was provided. They had cookies for guests in the evening hours. As other reviewers have mentioned, they aren't flexible when it comes to changing your stay or checking in/out earlier than the stated times, so make sure your plans are very solid before booking, even in the dead of winter. Parking is very limited. We were expecting guests to drop by for a quick visit (two hours tops) and asked where they could park. We were directed across US-31 (a busy four-lane thoroughfare) to an overflow lot. We asked if there was anything closer, as one person is in a wheelchair, but they didn't budge. (The parking lot in front of the hotel was empty except for our car at that point.) I'm giving this four stars because it is an impressive property and the winter prices are quite low, but keep in mind that the customer experience wasn't great.
