I found my stay here to be adequate. It was a bit pricey at well over $100 a night, but that is probably a function of my timing, which was at a very busy time for them. In fact, there were no rooms available for many of the days I was traveling. I dealt mostly with Donna, who was very accommodating and helpful in a stressful time when she seemed to be the only person working. She managed to keep breakfast stocked (a typical eggs and sausage affair) as well as manage the desk. My room was nice and left little room for complaint. On that note, the internet was very slow at times but overall that was not an issue.

Handmade Amish furniture throughout, heated marble bathroom floors, complimentary drinks and snacks, plush towels, and comfortable furniture to hang out in the common areas. Don't even get me started on the hot breakfasts every morning. Upon coming downstairs in the morning, appetizer donuts/cookies were set out with fresh coffee and a greeting from the hosts offering orange juice. Breakfast usually consisted of eggs (scrambled, fried), a meat (bacon, sausage), hashbrown potatoes, a fruit cup and a sweet item (pancakes, waffle, french toast). But .... one morning we had a hot from the oven bubbling ramekin of berries covered with a crumb topping of oats, brown sugar and butter!!!! The inn owners were more than friendly, helpful and gracious with my family! Vermillion is a very quaint town with a main street (only 2 blocks from the inn) lined with family owned and delicious restaurants, coffee cafes, small retail shops, and lots of bars for the college crowd. We are looking forward to the next time we stop in Vermillion and hope we again can snag a room at the Main Street Inn!

We took an uber (short drive) but the hotel does have a shuttle if you arrange it. We learned that lyft has more drivers than uber in this area if that is helpful to anyone. The look of it and the functionality. please link me, I need this floor at home! - mattress comfy - very clean rooms, robes presented on beds very nice touch. - dimming lights Staff are nice and they have a little coffee breakfast nook with goodies by front desk as well. This location is very walkable to go get a burger or breakfast sandwich down the street too. Super bonus is the treasury restaurant inside the hotel through the safe door. We are suckers for history and a swanky atmosphere. I wouldn't want to park here - it is a tight lot. Even the Ubers and Lyfts have trouble getting in and out because it is narrow. I mean people do, I just personally would not. Thanks for the wonderful stay. If we have to come back to Sioux Falls we won't be staying anywhere else but here.

The hotel is very close to a Wal-Mart, a liquor store, a grocery store, and many restaurants. The only hiccup I've ever had at this hotel, is once I booked a room via the IHG app. The hotel ended up being overbooked, and I was not able to get a room when I attempted to check in. However, the manager apologized for the inconvenience, and he deposited points into my IHG Rewards Club account.

Cards and gifts stolen throughout the evening and no follow through, empathy or apologies from event center. (They did now put in cameras. Make sure they are operating) Review your contract to make sure you are not over charged for beverages/beer not served. Make sure your guests are aware of all complimentary beverages from the bar. They do not promote or acknowledge them to your guests. This was experienced personally and by many family members and guests. Make sure that your guests are charged consistently and getting credit for what the drink tickets are actually worth. Employees family members are not invited guests with their children and stay through the entire event?? Make sure your guests are safe we had an unfortunate incident and security was questionable at the hands of those locking up. There were many pieces to the contract not met that were spoken, broken doors, areas not repaired, groomed as promised by event center manager. Bar manager rude to our kind guests and families of the couple. Wgtn needs the event center we are certain there are good staff there. When we posted "we need your help" (for info on stolen cards and gifts) on their site one manager posted a laughing emoji. Also posted negative comments of the couple on FB then removed. Private messages sent to family of couple. Unprofessional and inappropriate. We also had as parents of the bride had no suite?? I personally confirmed it 2x. What was to be a most special, blessing and day of love, still brings sadness and yes still blessed. Other couples reached out privately to let us know of their poor/some of the same experiences'as well. Many of the same, but never reported. Wgtn Event Center~ who ever manages your center and managers... Wgtn deserves better, as did our children. The day ceremony still special and beautiful but some clouds over some of our joy. Be sure to check your bill receipt first when you check out to make sure it's correct. My bill was supposed to be $133 dollars but they charged me $177! I complained about it because I was quoted $133. The nice lady on duty in the morning corrected my bill. And those prices had a AAA DISCOUNT. Geez that didn't help much for a lower price. They need to get more affordable motels there.
